Fayette County played host to Whitewater on Friday night and dominated their county rivals.

The girls game featured a very low scoring first half with the Lady Tigers leading 11-8 at the break. The Fayette County offense picked things up in the second half and won 40-17. The Lady Tigers defense was the star of the game holding Whitewater scoreless for two straight quarters.

The Lady Wildcats' Katie McCreary led the team with 11 points, while Anma Onyeuku led Fayette County with 10 points.

The Whitewater boys handed Fayette County a region loss earlier this year, but tonight's match was all Fayette County. The Tigers led 16-7 at the end of the first quarter and broke it open in the second half, leading the Wildcats 42-19.

Noel Johnson led the Tigers with 21 points while Brandon Boykin added 15 points. Whitewater's Victor Lanier led the team with nine points.

Fayette County will host the region 2-AAAA tournament starting on Monday.

Does anyone have info on what the game times are for the tournament? I know it's at FCHS and it starts today, but that's it. I plan on attending both girls and boys games.

The girls should have been Wednesday 2/13 not 2/12. Just replace the 2/12 with 2/13 for the ladies and you have the schedule. Sorry for the typo.

That schedule can't be right - you have multiple games on same date.

McIntosh girls play Wed., Feb. 13 at 4 p.m. against Northgate, so I assume all girls games are on 2/13 and boys are on 2/12.

I'm a little more confused now than before. I know that if I call the school (FCHS), they won't be able to tell me anything (they never do). I checked the Gasports.com website and they offer no help. I want to go and support all of our local teams, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. If anyone knows how I can find out, please let me know. And if you want to see some great basketball action, this is the place to be. For the cost of admission, you can't beat it.

The schedule is correct except for the date for the girls.

I accidentally put 2/12 instead of 2/13 on the girls dates.

Until you have winners and losers that is all the information available.

I apologize for the error on the date.

Sounds good to me. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it to the McIntosh girls or boys games due to the fact that I have to work for a living. Go Chiefs!! I want to see you in action in the later round. I could sneak out of work a little early I supposeā€¦

both have a good shot of moving on to second round - then it gets hard - could see a rematch of that last game (1 pt loss for boys) against Westlake.
