Skyspy’s City Leadership Exchange program is a great idea. We can further reassure the folks coming here to run PTC that our meetings are safe. We can start by confiscating all the weapons of that nutcase Dufresne that used to wear the BUM tee shirt all the time to meetings. Load up Bernie and Harold on a beer truck and ship ‘em out.

I was simply reporting an unfortunate event created by an insensitive Government. The man that shot the Mayor & two Council members in Missouri was a victim himself. He owned an asphalt business and the City was trying to run him out of business by constantly fining him to the point that he couldn’t operate his business and support his family. He went before Council numerous times for relief but got none. He had a long time legal business but the City wanted him out so they could get State & Federal Grants to redevelop the Town. He went to Court but didn’t have enough money to pay Lawyers to carry the lawsuit to a final conclusion. After he lost his business, he just snapped. The point is that Local Governments are insensitive to the citizens they represent. Its the same way in Fayette and everywhere. With better Government everyone could have won in this situation. Instead everyone lost.

More like created by some piece of trash human that killed innocent people because the guy couldn't live life on life's terms.

If it wasn't for the city fining him repeatedly for violations due to parking asphalt trucks in neighborhoods in front of people's residences, or a court tossing his lawsuit out as groundless, it would have been something else that "destroyed" this mental defective. Maybe getting ripped-off by a soda machine would have set him off on a killing spree.

The only fault and the only reason 5 innocent people are dead is because of one person's actions. I know it's fashionable in tragedies like this to blame any and everyone besides the criminal who guns down people in cold blood, but all that does is create more psychopaths like "Cookie" the nut job.

We need to keep an eye on the developers, Lenox and that guy that wears the yellow shirt to make sure they aren't packing heat at the PTC Council meetings. What say you?

Oh...and we might want to keep an eye on a couple of the council members too.

From what I read the city wasn't trying to run him out of business, he was parking his commercial asphalt paving trucks in a neighborhood and they ticketed him for that and he wouldn't park them anywhere else. Some businesses you can't run out of you home. So instead of complying with the law he goes and blows away several people some who had nothing to do with his problem, in my book that makes him no better then the clown who killed Meredith.

You weren't "simply reporting" anything. You were suggesting that the cold-blooded murders of five people were justified because a small businessman was frustrated. Go to the St Louis Post Dispatch site and read about your hero (and his victims, while you are at it). He was a total wack job with a long string of incidents and problems that included previous assaults on at least two people.

I'm not condoning what Margot implied. I'm sure she's not a trigger happy person and I do agree that the asphalt dude went nuts. But, Margot shouldn't have to "go away" just because you think she belongs in the nut house. If your standard was upheld across this board then the only person standing would be.... would be...... I guess only me.

Well I apologize for the "outburst" that got me censored. For the record, I called margot a sick fool, modifying it with the mildest possible curse word starting with D. I'm all for decorum but I felt it was entirely appropriate with margot's post, which expressed a sentiment far more obscene and perverted than any curse word. Margot, you are a waste of oxygen.

Again, my heart goes out to the victims and their relatives.

...probably should be banned from being in public as a general rule. Yellow? UGH. I may disagree with most of Brown's politics, but I don't "hate" the guy and sure wouldn't bother to make/wear some t-shirt. Voting is more effective.

I've been to several standing room only meetings in PTC(Wal-Mart/Home Depot come to mind right away) that were pretty contentious, but I never was thinking at the time that some crazy would whip out a gun and start shooting people.

I have a feeling more security will become the norm all over the country as far as using metal detectors and having more than a token police presence.

It is ridiculous to legitimize the crazyness of this dead guy in Missouri. He was insane. I saw his brother interviewed. His brother was not sane either. I am amazed that someone would make such a veiled threat in these blogs, that our "government" (eg elected persons) should watch their actions for fear of being shot. Are you serious? Wow! Time for some group Tai Chi like they use at Chinese factories to keep people sane. All together now.....
