Chief's Notices

The PTC Chief of Police used to send an official notice to merchants when a policeman or policewoman found something wrong at their place of business! Usually you had already been called to your business--2-3 A.M when it occurred.
This could amount to a back door found unlocked, to something suspicious looking inside. Or, the door damaged.
Usually the later hate letter would have been alright except for the message it contained.
Basically the merchant was accused of contributing to the crime rate in PTC by doing such a poor job of prevention!
It might have been helpful to call the merchant if it had been shortly after closing time or even by 10-11 P.M., but at 2-3 A.M., the possible robbery would already have occurred!
I'm not saying this was deliberate, but I am saying it could be done earlier.
Maybe it was, but the call held?
It is a thankless enough job, that of a law enforcement officer, without having a supervisor who has no strong supervision by someone who knows what they are doing.
Maybe this is an opportunity to make those corrections?

To write something as anal as that - you are indeed a nitpicker.
Walk a mile in their shoes and then get back to me.

You are probably more familiar with that description of me than I!

I was talking about supervision and planning, not street cops!
