Tyrone -a town that will be a laugh a minute

Interesting how the new planning commision are the cronies of some of the council. These next few years are going to be very entertaining to watch. The questions of the day are, "Will the 2 ladies of the council mainpulate and pull strings?". "Will the men of council get tired and grow a set and put a stop to crap"?
Ms. Caldwell had some problems understanding the budget that she had a hand in. Does her face always turn red when she does not understand what is explained to her? The Public Safety Director explained what the fire department is doing for strokes. I thought Ms. Caldwell might need their help for a few moments tonight. She might need to concentrate on the simple things she understands like- Earth Day.

I'm sure you can now look from the back, at the color of ones skin..I'm fascinated, as to how lady like they were, never to comment on the odor of booze, and never asked that your vote be disqualified because of it! By contrast, if you had been in the same position, you would have used it to the max! Maybe that is why they were elected...and your only attention is...writing nasty blogs!

Submitted by rm.snell on Sat, 02/09/2008 - 10:42am.

I just want to know, who deems where anyone sits? The color of ones skin? You sould like you are in fifties when black people were not able to sit where they want and were discriminated against all of the time. Thank God, we have come far from that bit of discrimination.I like sitting in the back it gives me a good view of the show up front.

How would you know who had odor of booze? Lady like? Those women would have used anything to manipulate things their way so you can not say that. If alcohol were an issue, and it was not, it should have been raised. It was not.
OBB-It was mentioned numerous times...no signs...there were no signs posted so many times it was a joke! Wake up....we have a guy sueing the town because not only were there no signs posted...it was HIS LAND for God's sake and people came and went on it all the time. If there was a sign I'm sure he would have SEEN IT! Land between the schools, same thing...no signs!
This is the same man who mad at his choice in candidates because they are not abolishing the ordinance that hurt him. His lawsuit has not come to fruition this far.

OBB-You also waiver as to who is to 'help' the developers, staff or planning members....you moron...the developer needs to know what he is doing...

You obviously are not reading correctly. As I have said in this blog- The staff should be available to help the developers answer any question before going to the planning commision. There is a new manager, who is a planner, and she should be able to help them all.The new mayor is now going to hold 2 planning meetings a month. One of those meetings will be to "help" the developer before the go to the planners at the time of the public hearing. That being said, the new planner will have to train all of the new planners what should and should not be on a site plan and what the developer will need to help get the plan through to the next stage of the game. At this stage of the game only 2 of them will be able to do so. I have always maintained that the developer does need to know what to do.

OBB-You are truly out of your mind...and drunk...I will answer you no more..you have issues...and it is scary you ever held any position in Tyrone

Ah, coming from someone that has the drinking problems you do that statement does not bother me. Do not answer me. I will continue to blog my thoughts and opinions on the development of Tyrone. As far as anything else...please just deal in your conspiracy theory. You seem to develop more and more of them as you go.

"Ms. Caldwell had some problems understanding the budget that she had a hand in. Does her face always TURN RED when she does not understand what is explained to her?"

I don't think you remember/or read/ what you write! I was refering to your remark about Grace, in your opion, turning red. Only you could take your own remarks and turn it racial! You need to quit rambling.
I was talking of your previously sitting next to, but now in the back, where you sit now...you don't get it, and as I said, try to turn your own remarks in to something racial...That is the type thing that cost you the election. You assume everyone here is a racial bigot but you, you assume everyone here is ignorant, but you. That condesending attitude is what irks everyone about you.

before they even talk about planning. Put a stop to development until the sewer problem is fixed. That's the best planning anyone could do.

I thought we got rid of a lot of it with the past election.

Everyone of them is great. We are gonna see some decisions made with the people's best interest at heart.

Submitted by rm.snell on Fri, 02/08/2008 - 10:54am.

But how much will they know about planning a community. Shenkle and neubergal are the only ones with that type of experience. Everyone else does not. These are the hand chosen people of the two ladies. The planning commision was never listen to before and now I hope that continues because Tyrone's potential development will be going down the tubes. The new manager is going to have to teach these people what should be looked at done before the first meeting on the 15th of February. No way that is possible. Ethical Government is a thing of the past here and has turned into "The good ole boy, or in this case The good ole Girl System". In the next two years people will begin to see why Grace was run out on a rail from Fayette County Commisioners and that Gloria needs to keep Gordon busy with his septic systems.

Submitted by oldbeachbear on Fri, 02/08/2008 - 11:13am.

I suppose the only thing that is gonna save us is you telling us what to do right?

Is it really griping you at work people ask you how was your council meeting and you have to say 'fine'. I bet you don't tell them instead of sitting up front, your now on the back row!

What would you teach these people? To grab their paper work as they walk in the door and rely on Barney to tell them how to vote?

You still have to attack the woman don't you? That rail you are refering to is the one the voters had for you the last election.

Submitted by rm.snell on Fri, 02/08/2008 - 3:22pm.

Madame Bear, There is nothing that will SAVE Tyrone at this point unless things change. You can not run the government on the Good ole boy or gal government. If the planning commision is to teach the developers what they need to do than it is helpless. They, themselves, do not know. You can not teach those things to people in just a few days time. The meetings that Mayor is proposing is something that the staff should be capable of doing. There should be a list of things required prior to the submital of plans. If the developer has questions they should be able to go to a staff member for consultation. The mucking of the process is going to get worse and not better.

"If the developer has questions they should be able to go to a staff member for consultation."

My my, wouldn't that be a secret meeting?

If the developer is stupid enough to buy land that is zoned 1 acre lots and then wants to build 8 or 4 houses to the acre, that is no one on the planning committee responsibily.

The responsibily of the planning committee is to make sure things are done according to our laws, like one acre lots...

they are ...not...suppose to rezone the land for duplexes like yall did for the last Wieland deal. That was disgusting to everyone. You looked like fools...no ....you are fools!

Submitted by oldbeachbear on Fri, 02/08/2008 - 4:24pm.

Gordon Shenkle, Nebergall and Henry have all been on town planning boards before. I'll put Gordon's IQ up next to anyones! The others are also intelligent and level headed and have the town's best interest at heart. NONE were chosen because of who they knew. They all come with outstanding resumes. Now are you gonna tell me Ginger Blackstone was chosen for any other reason than being friends with the past Mayor? (She's the one that wanted Sonic to use other colors because she thought their present ones are garish!) We've had some real winners that you guys picked. Some looked like they were drooling.
Which brings me to YOUR qualifications? What made you so wonderful in public service? On 'your watch'

1. We had no signs posted REPEATEDLY on land that was to be rezoned.

2. Taxpayers land was rezoned without their knowledge, causing a lawsuit.

2.The town had to pay $10,000. for dredging Pendleton Lake, as the ball fields built in the wetlands poured silt into a creek running into the lake.

3. On your watch a high density Wieland subdivision was voted in that the taxpayers were screaming they didn't want!

4. We have a family cemetery hanging in the road, (my bad, EASEMENT), over on Trickum Creek.

5. We have multi law suits pending due to things that happened on you watch.

6. Then there is the $10-12000. thousand dollar mail out you insisted on after taxpayers went door to door (free of charge) with a questionnaire about the library. You didn't like the results, so you squandered that money on a mail out.

7. Then there is the library it's self, a couple of million dollars worth of Hardy Plank with 4 under-worked librarians on the payroll hawking 3 books !

Tyrone is far from saved.
The firestation is proof positive that a sewer situation needs to be reviewed.
Most of the lawsuits have not come to fruition.
You will have to buy a larger chair for Shenkle's "intelligence".
The council did not control the placement of the signs.
Not every taxpayer screamed they did not want Weiland and those folks are proud to be a part of the community.
The library is great and those ladies work hard.
You, my friend, sound like a dried up shrew. Wait and see what happens to Tyrone. Sadly, it will not be a good thing.

You're right, some were too young to scream, and others on vacation.

"and those folks are proud to be a part of the community." Yeah, they have sold...ONE... house in there so far!

"The council did not control the placement of the signs."
If you guys had no say over it....what were you doing up there? You were suppose to be there to protect the citizens and see that the laws were obeyed....like posting signs on land that was to be rezoned.

Your nasty remarks about Shenkle are sour grapes.

Some of the council works, unlike you my dear, and can not oversee the positioning of the signs. That falls under the day to day responsibility of the staff. Every area that has been up for rezoning has had a sign that "I" have seen.
OBB-"If the developer has questions they should be able to go to a staff member for consultation."
My my, wouldn't that be a secret meeting?

No. You obviously do not understand who the staff members are or what they do. The staff are the people that work in the town hall and help it's citizens everyday. There is a planner now managing the town and that should make it easier for the developers to get questions answered.

OBB-they are ...not...suppose to rezone the land for duplexes like yall did for the last Wieland deal. That was disgusting to everyone. You looked like fools...no ....you are fools!
You may feel that the previous council members were fools but, they can say they did come into town hall screaming like a banshee and acting crazy. The also have never been stopped by a police officer and then declared it a conspiracy theory. You know you really should not drink so much. It gets you into trouble.

you just...had..to drop...'The VP of BS where I work had lunch with me and asked yada yada about me and Tyrone... you started your junk about why you should be elected with that... That was suppose to impress everyone...it didn't ...everyone thought it pretty lame..

Now I have to ask...what do you tell them now...? I think you run to work and try to impress them what you are in Tyrone, and in Tyrone, try to impress them with what you infer you are at work...that is really sad, cause I don't think anyone in either place swallows that BS!
