Village Seafood Market

To whomever it was that came on the Citizen and recommended eating at the Village Seafood Market, all I have to say is thank you. I went there for lunch today with one of the little gitlets and I had the fried shrimp and fried oysters. It was outstanding. I look forward to buying some fresh seafood from there and taking Mrs. Git there real soon.

Some of the other menu items are:

Softshell crab plate

New England style whole fried clams

Catfish special

1/4 lb. fried shrimp basket with hushpuppies for only $5.50. The gitlet loved them.

Coleslaw - pretty good

Creamy shrimp with rosemary

Fish plates

Scallops with bacon

Tuna K-Bobs

Gumbo

etc, et al....

Not to mention the fresh fish for your own favorite dishes.

Another fine touch to add ambiance your fine dining experience is the friendliness of the Asian owners and their choice of fine classic country music to set the tone. Smiling

It's at the corner of Hwy 54 & Robinson Road in the same building as the Chevron station. They weren't busy, they cooked it up fresh, and the prices were very reasonable.

There... I've given $Nitpicker$ something to whine about. Eye-wink Perhaps ole Dollar might even give it a try upon receipt of his next government retirement check.

Not sure if my recommendation I posted was the one you read, but glad to hear you enjoyed it....they really do have good fresh seafood and the owners are truly nice people...I made a pot of gumbo last week with shrimp and scallops bought at Village Seafood and it was delicious.....amazing the difference fresh seafood makes.

You made Gumbo and didn't invite the rest of us? Puzzled

Anyways thanks for recommending it. It's one of those little community treasurers that are often overlooked. But, I can't wait to use them again.

I hope they do good business. Nitpickers said they've had multiple owners.

I have no complaints about that place. I have been there a time or two and only found the prices hefty, but we don't live on the ocean!
This is the 2nd or 3rd owner, I think. Volume must be low.
Maybe they supply the local restaurants every day?
