She's still in reasonably good spirits, given the fact that this is day 8 in the hospital when we expected 2 at most. A big part of the delay is from waiting on some test results that take days to run. I believe those results are in. But the less invasive procedure that they tried several days ago seems not to be doing the trick, so we are looking at surgery--perhaps Friday.

She was truly touched by the thought that you guys got togethner to send flowers. Thanks.

We're hanging in there. I have today off and am able to be the gopher in case she wants anything from, say, Whole Foods. We were scheduled to board a plane around noon today for Wisconsin. That's cancelled. I was afraid that it might happen, so I purchased trip insurance that is supposed to give a refund in such cases. (Last September we were scheduled to fly to England so that I could speak at a conference in Oxford, but had to cancel due to her earlier hospitalization. British Air wouldn't budge. They refunded only the taxes, etc. and kept about $1500.)

Ouch, even after you told them the circumstances? That's harsh. I cringe when I hear things like that and I'm in that industry.

I'm glad that Lynn is not "NPO" and able to take in some real. The alternative stuff is strictly not "palatable". When she is back home and things have settled down, we'll bring some Starbucks coffee/tea to both of you.
