Y'all want your recession check?

Won't that just make inflation worse?
And all you people with 401-ks made up of stocks---are you getting excited about your retirement? Another good republican idear!
I wonder if we could just start our monthly checks to pay the tax on groceries and rent---right after we get the recession check---just keep it going?
Don't even file taxes for last year---just stop that now!
Of course tomatoes would be $2 a piece instead of $1 that they are now--and made of rubber (or oil), but who cares about food prices if I have 3-4 hundred dollars in my pocket from Washington? And it comes every 1st of the month, too.
Milk and OJ now are about the same per gallon as gasoline in Europe, but we can't make them out of corn!
Two steaks at Kroger the other day were priced at $22.00. I could have eaten them both! Hamburger, made of feet, ears, tongues, tails, chitlins, and scraped off head meat, is now about $3 per pound. That will make a couple of good sized hamburgers.
I tell you what: we need more than a 3-4 hundred dollar check every month to eat on. I even paid $4 not long ago for a mess of green beans at a local farmers roadside stand.
I scared now to go to our very own first class hospital emergency room from what I'm reading on here as to how they do triage! Do very sick people wait the same length of time as someone with a cold on welfare?
I've known for some time not to go to a hospital on a Friday or a Saturday or a Sunday (3 of the 7) since there won't be hardly any service there at those times--maybe for gunshot wounds at Grady! But it sounds like now we would be better off to go to see a local Vet!
Has our government allowed this to happen to us?
I want a thousand dollar check every month, myself. How about you?

I'll take my recession check. With the many, many thousands of dollars I paid out in taxes.... I'd love to get a few peso back. Smiling

And all you people with 401-ks made up of stocks---are you getting excited about your retirement?

I'm very excited about my 401K returns. I'm up a tad bit over 26% in my Schwab account for 2006 and right now I'm sitting mostly in money market funds and overseas stocks. Yeee Haw! I'm as happy as tick sucking on a coon hound's ear. I'm a little disappointed in my 14% returns with my 401K plans. But, my fund selections are somewhat limited.

I'll be sticking my recession checks in my Schwab account for future investments. I hope many will apply theirs towards the ridiculous debts they've dug themselves into.

I want a thousand dollar check every month, myself. How about you?

Sure... If you can't beat em..... join em. Smiling

Well Bonkers...In the summer of 2008 I migrated all my monies into a money market account preceding the 'meltdown'. So overall I was in a neutral position for 2008. Around May or so of this year I moved cash back into international markets and seconds before I started replying to you I logged on to my 401K account and noticed that I have a 18.2% gain for the year. So I must ask you old buddy.... How am I doing? Let me know when I need to lean on your wise counsel in this regard old buddy. Cheers!

I've got to build these funds up so you Democrats can take a desired stab at seeing how much of you can confiscate and redistribute in the probably not-so-distant future.

Oh well....let me get back to my little get-a-way I'm enjoying on the outskirts of Asheville. It's about 45 degrees right now and I'm heading to the hot tub to figure out how I can use my 401K to leverage a power move against George Washington Vanderbilt so I can take his little house over and get my family moved in.

Money market payments = .2% all the way to 1.2%!

Them neutral positions air shore grate!

Glad I didn't vise you.

Well Bonker$.... I'd say my 1% money market return beats the snot out of your Social Security COLA increase. What say you?

Them neutral positions air shore grate!

Yeppers old timer. They sure are. Smiling Let's see here.... Pre-meltdown dollars removed from the market prior to the this past years economic melt down and kept in a 1% or so fund for 10 months awaiting for the market to rebound while most folks lost 20% - 40% or more really sounds good to me pops. And now sitting on that 18.2% return on top of those fully preserved investment dollars$ sort of makes me feel good.

Respectfully Bonkers...I'm glad you didn't "vise" me. I mean really....

Might I suggest, in order for you to cope with your upcoming cutbacks in spending due to your precious Obama / Democrat Social Security COLA freeze that I might suggest you start preserving funds by eliminating THIS from your ever tightening budget?

But, rather than gloat, I will prudently monitor the situation closely. Tomorrow is another day. I have no doubt that my investment counselor $Nit$ will advise me as to my next move. I view his blogs credible and informative much like I do the Kiplinger Reports. Eye-wink
