Who was the guy that stormed out of the town council meeting when they chose the Fayette Daily News? All I could think of is maybe it was that Cal Beverly fellow or that guy Dick something that is suing Tyrone. Isn't that Dick guy the one that supposedly has the petition to get rid of Barry? I wonder why he never brought it in. I would have expected a big ceremony like he found the Dead Sea Scrolls or something. I bet the petition never existed.

I recall a group of people went door to door with a questionnaire as to what the citizens wanted done with Shamrock Park. Among the questions, they could do away with it completely and build your library on it, or they could fix it up, and if so, what did they want for it. Those people volunteered their time and it didn't cost anyone anything. Every questionnaire, was filled out by the resident and their address and name were on them.

Because this questionnaire came back contrary to what you wanted, that being, do away with Shamrock Park and put your library on it. You ordered a $12,000 dollar mail out, and implied the people were wrong. It cost us $12,000 for your mail out. You could have gone door to door with the questionnaires yourself, but felt it was beneath you, and then you were outraged with the results!

You always want your way, in your eyes, ours wishes have nothing to do with what is best for the town. That concept and your arrogance, cost you the election.

Shamrock Park renovation is a joke! I have heard nothing but, that it looks like crap...big open field with no trees. A Park for picnics in the blazing sun... wow what fun! Everytime I have been there I SEE NOTHING BUT DOG CRAP ALL OVER. Nothing better than having a friendly gathering of football, soccer or a game of toss while rolling around in poo. Planning a gathering right now for a family poo wrestling. Come and join in the fun. AND wow $5 an hr for the pavailion...that will totally break us at some point.

You folks in Tyrone really need some help with your local guvment. Sham park sounds like a real, family-friendly place to recreate in - NOT. Don't y'all have a parks and rec. department that oversees stuff like this, that attempts to keep the parks nice, poo free, maybe plant a few trees for future shade?

TOO much grass for just few people to keep with. It really is the responsibility of the pet owner to clean up their own poo..Unfortunately, I do not think they care.In their eyes it is literally a "dumping ground". I guess they need to hire a POO Patrol..LOL Or make it more useful like an organized sports field of some sort. BUT NOT PTC FOOTBALL...they are banning outside ptc players???ridiculous & want to use Tyrone as their practice area...

in Tyrone? As in a city ordinance stating that a dog owner must clean up after their pet, or be issued a citation and pay a fee?

Now I'm wondering if PTC even has an ordinance like this, because I stepped in a lovely pile last weekend, while trekking in the "green space" to take photographs. I always see dog doo in the public areas, parks, etc., in pristine PTC. Why is that?

Where I am from originally, out west, it is illegal not to clean up after your dog and most public parks and walkways have this posted and also provide little poo baggies in a dispenser, in case you forgot to bring some along with fido.

Thanks for the ordinance information. Noticed it was as of Sept 2007. Wording is different than on the old signs I mentioned. Someone commented on here about the need for ordinances. Given the attitudes of some I've seen around town we're fortunate to ordinances, and restrooms at most facilities, or we'd probably have much bigger problems.

Long ago it was determined that the city couldn't have cops running around picking up cats and dogs, nor ticketing anyone for them running loose or leaving messes.
So, they said the county would do it for them!
The county doesn't unless a formal complaint is registered and by then the animal and the owner is long gone----therefore no enforcement!
A deer will lie around for days stinking!

I think not because I had the opportunity to discuss this with a PTC PD member this past summer. There are at least a few signs posted in town that refer to such an ordinance, but when I asked the officer about the punishment for violations he checked his entire ordinance manual and alas the one referenced on the sign appears to no longer exist. At least it wasn’t in the binder he had with him and it contained what were thought to be all current ordinances.

that people would do the right thing without the need of an ordinance.
