Tyrone's Money TreeAfter watching the “new group” for two meetings it is evident that they have discovered a money tree. First they fire the existing Town Manager/Town Engineer. Then they hire a new manager at a higher salary ($1,000’s more no one is sure how much since they have not made the contract public) but have to change the entire management structure eliminating about ½ of the employees under her supervision to match her skill set. Of course they have to go out an hire a Town Engineer (the same one as Fayette County, what a shock). Then they replace the Town Attorney with a more expensive one that appears to be paid 58% more than the old one. However, if this past Thursday night is any indication of the true costs, the actual increase in cost is closer to a whopping 316%. Under the “old group” one attorney at $95 per hour was all that was required at a Council meeting; the “new group” needs two attorneys at the meeting to keep them straight at $150 per hour per attorney. Unfortunately, the money tree the “new group” has discovered is the Tyrone taxpayer. No wonder that the “new group” is so opposed to Rep. Richardson’s property tax controls. Guess that Don’s comment during the recent campaign about raising taxes is one he will live up to. Shaquita's blog | login to post comments |
