Off Topic/On Topic

I do enjoy reading the various blogs and commentaries here at thecitizen.com. However, to me it is distracting and irritating to wade through several individual communications/personal messages that are not relevant to the original discussion topic.

Maybe the Moderator/Site Owner can create an area where meetings at Starbucks, new calendars and other such topics which are not relevant to the original subject of discussion can take place?

I do not care to hear about users latest travel plans, childrens accomlishments, flying weather and so on when the original topic is something else entirely.

Perhaps as seen on other boards, require posts not related to the original topic be marked "OT" (Off Topic)

Maybe a "General Discussion" board/blog that is not related to any specific story would work.

Thanks and have a nice day.

Charity Rider,

I'm glad you enjoy visiting TheCitizen.com, and I understand that not everything found on here is going to appeal to every citizen logging on.

I wanted to let you know that there is a Forum section here on the site that can be used for extraneous topics that might not find a home through comments or blogs.

To access it, simply look under the site navigation on the left side of your screen, below our business directory. Once you reach the forums, you can create topics and post to your heart's content. Now getting others to follow your lead - that's a whole other topic...

Have you tried to post a new topic?

There is a forum but NOBODY has access to it! You get a message saying "You are not allowed to post new topics". I've mentioned this before.

Perhaps people with enough personalities to write a set of encyclopedia should go back to their book and reasearch.

And Charity can learn that if the first line of a blog seems to be off topic, skip over it.

There are a lot of blogger's names that I just skip over, generally I don't read what they have to say on topic or off topic.

Those that have the idea that they are somehow wiser than the rest of us; of course most of us do not talk to ourselves online, should begin a bloard/blog of their own where they can discuss highbrow junk and solve the problems of the world . . . yeah right!

Y'all have a good day!

Some people take this blogging stuff way too seriously. Well, I'm still stuck in DFW.

LOL
Jane, you always 'tell it like it is.' This blog is off/topic and on/topic, so we can say what we want. Eye-wink

Some of these people are going to complain about anything and everything. Didn't we discuss this a few weeks ago? It's easy to skip over some of the comments.
I added a couple of names to my list a few weeks ago. Smiling

Have a great day! Smiling

It's kinda like reading a menu, you order what you like and skip over the things you don't like. I'm confused about these folks, it's a very simple thing, if you don't like it, don't read it.

I wonder what happens at $nitbonksmith$ house if one of them writes something the others don't want to read!?!

Bless their hearts

Jane, you think that's what they call shadowboxing?
I bet that house is tore all to pieces. Well..maybe not the computer room. Smiling

Yep, Bless their hearts

"Off topic?"
2/3 of those on here are always off topic!
They have no interest in anything serious!
They act as if their job is all they owe the world!
No improvement necessary!!
Some of course are just thick.
No amount of pounding, thumping, scaring, use of irony, humor, negativism, parodies, or anything will wake them up!
The worst bunch I have ever seen for being self-centered, naive and trivial!
