Republican primaries

Fred Thompson may win the SC primary, giving the republicans four primary winners to consider.
Fred does have a younger wife to keep him awake during meetings than did Ronald Reagan.
All the "family values" mixed up with this bunch of republicans should destroy that false ranting forever!
I don't know which is worse, a family with one parent, or one who has up to three X-parents!
Just so they aren't bankers or insurance executives or oil potentates, I'll vote for one of the jokers anyway, I suppose.
Probably Kucinich.

Romney took Michigan, I see.

I would vote for Romney if he were running for starring actor for a mini-series about the presidency. He LOOKS very presidential in a Michael Douglas or Martin Sheen sort of way. Some columnist said that Romney is what you would have if you constructed a president from a kit.

He would also get my vote if he were running for head coach at Notre Dame (though the Mormon thing might be a problem), because his name SOUNDS like he ought to be doing that: Mitt Romney - Knute Rockne. (Given his suspiciously-timed 180* turns on various social issues, we might be able to say, "Let's win won for The Flipper.")

But, I just cannot take the man seriously for the real thing. It would be like electing Alex Trebek or Pat Sajak to become leader of the free world. (Actually, press conferences run Jeopardy-style might be interesting. Questions as answers, and answers as questions, always offered against a clock and buzzer, could really catch on.)

Did you vote for or at least feel that Ronnie Raygun was a good pres. Most good christian conservative types feel he was one of the best things since sliced bread. Lots of people with a little bit of a broader world view feel otherwise. I, in some ways embarrassedly, voted for the man myself. He was the ultimate in Alex Trebek/Pat Sajak style presidents ie. he put on a good "face" for the country.

Who EVER said anything about looking for a Woman. btw it's looking for a Woman....a lady would be someone walking around on Virginia Ave. or something or a punchline in a Jerry Lewis skit.......hey laaadeee.... anyhoo, you may be sweet and adorable, no doubt but like many others....d--n hard to understand most of the time. And just as a point of clarification.....been happily married 15 years this summer and with her for 3 years prior. The B part was just a shortening of your screen name; as you had been doing with mine.....no more, no less.

peace, woman

Yep, I have God that put that love in my heart even when people are mean and attack me because of my belief system - even you.

You know exactly what I mean by multiple personalties. I know God gave you a brain- simply because I believe in God.(JESUS) to confirm that belief system of mine, so there won't be a question.

I know- your going say I believe in God also-question is it the same one? Hope so.

I am not b- who is that? I answer because you are confused.

I answer you despite the fact that YOU are confused and are a very confusing and frustrating person to converse....G-d bless your poor husband. Please DO NOT try to save me, or really, anyone else for that matter ....it is not for you to try to do and or profess that some PERSON is telling you to do. My G-d IS THE ONE and ONLY. I believe that you believe also........so when you say God.(JESUS)it is confusing.....are there 2 or just the 1? One is a man. One is G-d. Period.

When I say b, I am referring to the screen name you are currently using. Thought we covered that already.

From one son of G-d to a daughter of G-d.....g'nite.

Hmmm...

Yes, and isn't there also a Reagan/Rockne connection?

Perhaps the difference is this: Reagan had the persona of the show host but the conviction of the statesman. But my impression is that Romney is showhost by both persona and conviction.

I'm reading Chesterton's Heretics all over again and enjoying it immensely. Here's a line from his first chapter (which, by coincidence, I just put down):

The opportunist politician is like a man who should abandon billiards because he was beaten at billiards, and abandon golf because he was beaten at golf. There is nothing which is so weak for working purposes as this enormous importance attached to immediate victory. There is nothing that fails like success.

Have you been seeing little green men also? Laughing out loud

Longtime friend Shirley MacLaine wrote in her new book that Kucinich found his UFO experience "extremely moving" (which he compared to former President Jimmy Carter's "UFO" experience).

"The smell of roses drew him out to my balcony [during a visit to her home in Washington state] where, when he looked up, he saw a gigantic triangular craft, silent, and observing him," she wrote. "It hovered, soundless, for 10 minutes or so, and sped away with a speed he couldn't comprehend. He said he felt a connection in his heart and heard directions in his mind."

Do you hear “directions” also? Eye-wink

Most of the essays included in the books are available online at City Journal, and the books are available at the LIBRARY.

"Citizen and Scholar of the World: An Interview with Dr. Theodore Dalrymple"

Also available at the library:

Black Rednecks and White Liberals and several others by Thomas Sowell

Dinesh D'Souza's books

Because They Hate: A Survivor of Islamic Terror Warns America by Brigitte Gabriel

I have several boxes of books to read -- a few about the Clintons, Hillary, and politics that were given to me. I'll get to them one of these days! I probably should take one of those speed reading courses! Laughing out loud

If you like 18th century British literature:

Many near Dallas Texas saw a UFO, one mile long by 1/2 mile wide, yesterday. It hoovered (as one witness said) and then sped off!
A sheriff and many others saw the same thing! They were interviewed on TV this morning. One said he hoped it was ours and not "them"
If the stupid computers would work 50% of the time and not have to be repeatedly up-graded, maybe, just maybe, doctors could keep up with them! The doctors usually get upset also, which is not good for the patient. Record it automatically and let a clerk input!
I know not where dollar, etc., are--nor do I care! Bored to death, I suppose, what with all of the coffee crap and HS band junk, and gossip.
That Carter rabbit may have been rabid--attacking a canoe as it did.
I'm sure you would have just reached down and picked it up! Right!

I'm sure you will vote republican, no matter if the convention has to pick the lady general who ran Abu Ghraib as their candidate.
I believe that you would also stop this horror of executing people with needles that only paralyze and don't kill immediately, by using the knives like the Iraqi executioners do---saw off the head.
Peach Care would immediately be canceled, Grady would be closed, rental assistance would cease immediately, road gangs into the swamps would begin again, white lightning would be made legal--made in a bath tub, all county, state laws and ordinances would be voided, and any federal laws negated.
Lynching and vigilante justice would prevail, where you thought it was needed!

The horror of executing people with needles that only paralyze and don't kill immediately.

Would be a much better treatment than he deserves.

I vote for using the knives like the Iraqi executioners do---saw off his head.

The man is an animal and looks like he has done this over and over again, time to put an end to him.

wulfman's picture
Submitted by wulfman on Thu, 01/17/2008 - 8:41am.

I am partial to white lightning but I prefer it to be cooked in the old stills that were made from rusty radiators. ( gives it more flavor)

Peach Care and Grady need to be overhauled and the waste and fraud cut out.

Rental assistance canceled.

You have to admit the welfare system is out of control and is abused by many.

The people that really need the hand up are not getting it while the dead beats that don't deserve it are exploiting it. Not to mention the Slum Lords that are getting rich from it.

Read my post titled (Just another one of those people), Then tell me how great the rental assistance program is.

Road gangs into the swamps? (Good Idea) If you do the crime you should do hard time not lay around a bunk and watch Direct TV.
And it would provide much needed food for our beloved gators.

Lynching and vigilante justice? (No)

In the Hilton case where there is a mountain of evidence that this man has killed multiple times and when he is convicted of murder in a court of law, he should be put to death immediately. Not waste our tax dollars to keep him alive.

He should be killed in the same fashion as the victims. I could careless how painful it is to him.

All county, state laws and ordinances would be voided, and any federal laws negated?

(No) But there are a lot of laws that need to be changed and some taken off the books.

Vote for the lady general who ran Abu Ghraib as their candidate. (Maybe) At least with her you know what your getting.

Not like the rest of the candidates currently running on both sides.

Send 'em to Gitmo and waterboard them before we put a military uniform on him and release him somewhere along the Pakistan - Afghan border.

Gary Hilton forfeited any and all rights he had in regards to being subjected to 'humane treatment'. And his main concern was the comfort and cleanliness of his jail cell. The first thing I'd do is render his commode inoperable.

I normally don’t go along with torture . If you saw my post on torture you would understand.

But Hilton is a savage animal and as far as I am concerned waterboarding and dropping him off in a US military uniform in Pakistan’s tribal region would be a great idea.

That’s a lot better treatment than any of his victims got from him.
