The Citizen's bigot-in-residence (The Beaver) quotes a conservative cryptofascist (Tom Kouri) who in turn quotes a self-described "conservative activist" (Thomas Kuiper) to determine that Hillary Clinton "lied" when she said she wanted to be an astronaut when she was younger.

Their "proof": She would have only been 37 when the first woman went up on the space shuttle.

Jeez.

I'm not a big fan of Ms. Clinton (although she is better than any declared Republican candidate running for president), but you'd have to admit, most people are fairly set in their careers by the time they are 37.

Jim Kouri, (Or as you called him 'Tom') is currently fifth vice-president of the National Association of Chiefs of Police.

He's former chief at a New York City housing project in Washington Heights nicknamed "Crack City" by reporters covering the drug war in the 1980s.

He served as director of public safety at a New Jersey university and director of security for a number of organizations.

He served on the National Drug Task Force and trained police and security officers throughout the country.

He writes for many police and crime magazines including Chief of Police, Police Times, The Narc Officer, Campus Law Enforcement Journal, and others.

He's appeared as on-air commentator for over 100 TV and radio news and talk shows including Oprah, McLaughlin Report, CNN Headline News, MTV etc.

Kouri has a bachelor of science in criminal justice and master of arts in public administration and he's a board certified protection professional.

And you call him a "a conservative cryptofascist"??? I would guess that he is a well informed, well educated, conservative who has dedicated his life to making the world a better place. Crypto-fascist - naw, I think not.

Regardless, do you think that Hillary was named after Sir Edmond Hillary as she espoused? Or do you think she was lying?

Seems that Hillary is a "Little stand by your man woman" after all. I guess that was a lie too.

Good to hear from you Bas.

Hi Mixer! We've been missing you.

You asked: "Regardless, do you think that Hillary was named after Sir Edmond Hillary as she espoused? Or do you think she was lying?"

Hillary (Clinton) was, as usual, telling the 100% gawds-honest truth, she was named after Sir Edmund.

Sir Edmund Hillary was named in 1919. Hillary Clinton was not named until 1947!

I hope that clears it up for you.

Really? Well Edmond Hillary (later named 'Sir') climbed Everest in mid 1953 and Hillary Rodham Clinton was born in 1947. Seems poor Edmond was a nobody when she was born ... in fact " Mrs. Clinton's campaign said she was not named for Sir Edmund after all."It was a sweet family story her mother shared to inspire greatness in her daughter, to great results I might add," said Jennifer Hanley, a spokeswoman for the campaign."

Source one of many:

Of course, if I use your 'tongue in cheek' definition of 'After' (very Clintonesque) then you my dear defender of the demented damsel were named after good ole' Adolph Hitler. Hummmmm..... that would explain a few things in dad's book I suppose.

So, care to comment on the "Little Stand by My Man - Woman" comment as well Jeffery?

I’ve never understood why it irritates the right-wing fringe so much that Bill and Hillary have managed to stay married and work out their problems. It also seems that there is a direct corollary between either the number of divorces or the fervor of the claimed religious affirmation of the accuser and the professed frothing outrage by them and their conviction that the Clinton’s could not possibly have a real marriage but rather some type of politically diabolical mutual understanding bonding them together solely as a means to grab political power.

After years of seeing this phenomena it occurred to me that this is a psychological trick people play on themselves so that they can maintain cognitive dissonance between the fact that even though their marriage might have failed, they are still superior to the Clinton’s because the Clinton’s only had some type of weird business arrangement type of marriage to begin with.

Turns out that Hillary was indeed wrong. She is a "Stand by My Man" Woman, apparently they are “One of a Kind” and are not going to get a “D-I-V-O-R-C-E.” She has obviously followed Bill’s advice when he told her to “Run Woman Run” and gets great political support when she talks “Woman to Woman”. Personally, I hope it’s an “Elusive Dream” and she will soon be saying “There Goes My Everything” but “Just in Case” she starts “Breaking Away” from the pack I’m afraid the Republicans are going to have the “World’s Most Broken Heart.”

It’s one of the many, inherent differences between the left and right. The right-wing continues to be curious about what goes on in everyone’s personal lives, marriages, bedrooms and the female body, as it relates to reproduction. This is a good example, and they just won’t be satisfied until they can disect, analyze and uncover some secret about the Clinton’s marriage – like this really impacts national security, the economy, the Iraq war. The right-wing continues to be the navel-picking party, that attempts to legislate the personal lives of the country. They are voyeurs, and they love the view.

"I’ve never understood why it irritates the right-wing fringe so much that Bill and Hillary have managed to stay married and work out their problems."

The fact that they have remained married does not not irritate me at all. It is their motivation to remain married that I find completely hypocritical. Because it appears to be based on blind ambition for power at any cost. I don't believe they have worked out their problems any more than Reagan believed the US and USSR had worked out our differences during the Cold War. I see it more as a truce. Kind of like "mutually-assured destruction". Divorce could destroy both of their political careers, and it looks like they refuse to let it happen only for political reasons, not personal ones.

In actuality, only Bill & Hillary know what is really going on between them. And that is how it should be. My opinion is formed solely on PERCEPTIONS. Like the fact that while he is supporting her campaign, they are rarely seen together. Even you have to admit they would be the first couple voted off the island of the reality TV show, "America's most adoring and loving couple".

Wouldn't characterize myself as right-wing fringe, either. Have always supported McCain. Because he has the courage of his convictions. And he is an honorable human being. Don't agree with him on everything. But he is definitely more liberal than most conservatives.

Even voted for a democrat once for president. But that was when I was still young and naive. Also, only been married once - - and am still married to the love of my life. Life is good. And so is God.

From the other side of the tracks

I intentionally used the phrase "right-wing fringe" mostly to poke fun at our friend Mixer but also to see who would respond to it. And when you responded I thought I was going to be able to write back wondering why on earth you would be upset at something that I had addressed to the right-wing fringe?

Then you preempted me right in the middle of the blog by denying your right-wing fringeness thus ruining my plan!

Shockingly, I too like McCain for the very reasons you stated (notwithstanding the fact that I'm gonna vote for the other side). Last time he won Michigan when the independents broke for him. Today, with the Dems not in the contest, all of the independents that might have decided for Obama are up for grabs and may very well go to the polls and vote for McCain again (in my view Hillary doesn't get a significant independent upsurge because you are either for her or against her with very few undecided about her therefore not many independents would have decided to vote Democratic and picked Hillary so when I'm counting votes I'm assuming independents go to Obama).

If McCain wins MI then he is looking really good against Huckabee in SC and Mitt is toast. If McCain comes in a strong second in MI, his story is that Mitt was a "native son" and was expected to come in first and look how well he did in spite of Romney's family being from there. It doesn't give him quite the boost for SC but it doesn't hurt him either. Either way Michigan tonight is only critical for Romney in my view.

By the way did you see the latest Quinnipac poll showing the four Republicans in Florida at 20/20/19/19% ? Talk about a dead heat. Unfortunately for Rudy, he fell 9 points while having the state to himself and while being the only one running media spots there. Huckabee surged and McCain was up a little with Romney staying about the same. With all the coming press from Michigan Nevada and South Carolina it is really hard for me to see Rudy maintaining viability in Florida much less winning it like he claims he is going to do. Rudy is going to lose in Florida and either get out or get crushed on Feb 5. Either way, he doesn't look like a contender anymore (to me). Where is he going to get the money to compete in 20 states on Feb 5? I'm not sure he can win NY anymore.

Its still interesting on both sides!

Isn't that funny as all 'git out'?

But what you are once again failing to understand is this. It really doesn't matter..... She's not a Republican so your facts are irrelevant.
