Championship Title to Tyrone

To the Town with the most offensive bloggers against their town management!
The name calling is magnificent!
Only thing missing is why aren't they in jail?
PTC pretty much just hates our former mayor, anyone who tells on Bush and his henchmen, and gossip! They don't win!
Fayetteville elected a new sheriff long ago. No new ideas wanted. Hope he is better than the one in North Carolina who is investigating the Marine's death. What a dud.
Are there other towns in Fayette County?

No one in PTC votes for sheriff. It is all Fayetteville!
We get no service from them except a helicopter spotlight occasionally!

There are a myriad of reasons there is little of no cooperation, or assistance in the PTC area from the FCSO. The biggest reason is because the PTC Chief of Police, has made it mre than clear that his department can handle any and everything. The "we are the elite" attitude and need no help is the reason the FCSO has little or no agency cooperation with the PTCPD. There have also been numerous "on duty incidents" between the PD and the SO, so it all boils down to a battle of the ego's. Just my .02 worth.

You're not the first person on here to allude to "bad blood" between the Fayette County Sheriff's dept and the Peachtree City police dept.

I've had minor dealings with each and found for the most part they are both very professional.

It saddens me to think that there is a lack of cooperation between the two, and makes me rethink both their professionalism and dedication to law enforcement if they are unable to cooperate together.

Any thoughts on what might be causing this "bad blood"?

Let's hope the next police chief see's the wisdom in getting along with others for the good of the taxpayers.

Let's all work together against the criminals.

Personally, what makes me doubt professionalism is a deputy getting on the county news website saying things like what you see above. It's tasteless and unprofessional to say the least. Just from reading the paper I think it's pretty clear that PTC's Chief and the Sheriff have very different views on law enforcment. From my perspective as a citizen this doesn't seem to be a problem, as I have received quality services from both. The only thing I've ever had to say negative about either involved a deputy with a short temper and foul mouth directing traffic at an accident. I wasn't real keen on the drug task force's idea of shooting at fleeing drug suspects vehicles either, but I'll reserve judgement on that case for somebody who's an expert.

that you're his new public affairs person? I figure if you're going to be on a public forum giving opinions such as this, which are clearly conveyed as a member of the Sheriff's department, that he is backing you up on this and endorses your ability to speak for the whole department.

Everyone in the county can vote for the sheriff. The Sheriff is in charge of the whole county.

We do receive many services and help from the sheriff's dept. The undercover drug agents and the SWAT team for starters help the small police depts. in the county.

That is odd! Doesn't he just run one department?
I've been here 25 years--never met him or a deputy!
I thought they ran the jail and got their name in the paper when ATF made a raid!

I didn't say they couldn't vote, I said they didn't
He is picked by Fayetteville out of the bunch!
Do you really think a candidate from PTC could win?
It is impossible to mean one thing and say another with some of you---you do not get it, when it is obvious! However it is alright to intentionally say one thing and mean another about race, ect,.

then again, I never realized that Fayetteville had a sheriff. Keep the faith.

Do you really not know what I meant? What would dollar know? He left.

When that old dude who has worked for the sheriff's department for 40 years was ALLOWED to announce his candidacy, it was all over!! Don't you get it, or do you and don't want to admit it?

Which old dude is that, and who allowed him? Do the people in PTC really not get to vote for the sheriff? No I don't get what you're saying, I think you've been bonging again.
