Power Out Thurs AM

My neighborhood is off Callaway Rd. Our power went off at exactly 4:16am Thurs. I began calling Coweta-Fayette immediately. At this time nobody is there only an answering machine. It was 8am when I finally got a live person. He was nice and assured me the power would come on Thurs. sometime.
Fortunately, the power did come back on at 9am. I have a well and was concerned that the pump would freeze up. When the temp. is this low or bad weather expected they need to have people standing by who can get the problem fixed sooner. 5 hours is a bit much!
I do appreciate how hard they work and hate to complain.

didn't you read what she posted or are you just eager to post a reply?

Sounds like she wished it hadn't taken 5 hours to get her electricity back on. I agree with her, but thank goodness we have a gas water heater so we did have nice HOT water for showers before school & work.

Now, go eat something sweet! Smiling

You should read just a tad more were she was complaining that they should have had extra crews set-up in case of "cold" weather. How many extra crews does she expect for cold weather events? According to The Citizen, there were 7 crews looking for the problem and once found, it took longer to repair due to multiple circuits.

If and when we have another ice storm and electricity is lost for days rather than hours is she going to write to inform us that it took to long too fix?

I'm sorry, but if she is so concerned about her well freezing then she should have a plan in case it happens.

Something sweet, no thanks. I'm large enough as it is. Smiling
