Very interesting to see the faithful bloggers come to the aid of the "new group" with their "what I do know" comments. One would wonder how much of that is truth or simply "he said, she said". What is more troubling than what went on in the past is what the "new group" is doing. A check with Town Hall and you will find that there is NO information about any item on the Council agenda. Authorization for funding for a forensic audit would imply that a firm has been selected. Since the "new group" just took office today, one would have to ask when this work was done. Guess all those cars at a newly elected official's house on the weekend was to keep those pesky citizens from having access in an open meeting. As far as the forensic audit, how is that different from the one on Tyrone's home page; or does it just costs more?

1. "A check with Town Hall and you will find that there is NO information about any item on the Council agenda."
Maybe you need to talk to your 2 friends you keep defending...they are responsible for puting things on the agenda! You seem to share the rest of our complaints in that respect...we have never got enough info out of those 2 resposible either!

2. "Authorization for funding for a forensic audit would imply that a firm has been selected."
No it doesn't...they are ..O.P.E.N.L.Y... discussing it and trying to aurthorize money for it, in an open discussion....what don't you understand about that?

3. "Guess all those cars at a newly elected official's house on the weekend was to keep those pesky citizens from having access in an open meeting."
That is so pitiful, for you. Most of us don't ride by people's houses wondering what they are doing with people at their house. Why didn't you stop and ask them? Maybe someone died? or maybe because it is Christmas, or that they just won an election, maybe they were having a party?

You always have a tall tale to spin don't you.
First of all this is the "new groups" agenda, where is the open government with no information available? Second how does an elected body authorize money for an item with no projected costs stated? Or has a firm been selected just like the legal organ was? And lastly, since you appear to be in the know ask the "new group" what they were doing all together like that. I have been told that they were interviewing applicants for town positions/appointments.

You sound hopeless and miserable. Could it be that judgment day is coming? We've notice that you and your sweetie looks haggard and uneasy lately.

... and you will see that it contained much of the same events. The main difference is that last year the various appointments were included in the consent agenda, which is discussed and voted on in total, whereas this year the new Mayor has broken those out into separate agenda items with separate discussion and votes. I believe this is very appropriate given the issues raised during the election, including the legal newspaper for the town.

On the issue of the newspaper, there are only two county-wide papers and it would be appropriate to switch between them from time to time to keep a semblance of competition. Since the proposed change to the Citizen is not on the consent agenda, you will be able to hear the new Council debate this openly and vote on it. Sounds like open government to me.

At one time paper cost too much to print all "Free Speech" e-mails. but there will be room for the legals!
Are the Fayette County "deciders" of such things now mostly republican?

At Midnight, the Guillotine drops in Tyrone. The Citizen gets a contract, Kingpin McNally gets a job and Valerie gets downsized. And you thought it was the roads on New Year's Eve that aren't safe !

you are funny! Happy New Year! And same to everyone in Tyrone, you have earned it.

you are a sore looser. You are drawing attention to the replacement of the paper, but what your really upset about is the other items on the agenda. They are cleaning house and taking out all the people who would be working to undermind everything the voters want. They aren't sneaky, they are doing everything upfront and out in the open. You are still in denial.

Shaquita

Selfish losers call the Council Agenda an endorsement pay-off. Winners call the Agenda righting a decade of property wrongs. The truth will come out with the Forensic Audit. Of course people like you don't consider stealing one's property a crime, but the law does.

You people are crazy.
Do you really know what a Forensic Audit is??? How about this: If someone STOLE the property you let the LAW decide what is right. That is why those people took their case to court. Right?? I am sure January 3, 2008 will be interesting for all who come to see the show. (And what a show it will be)
Secondly, How do you know who people with screen names are unless the come out and tell you. People are guilty of changing your screen names all the time to attack people. People in Tyrone have to wonder who OldBeachbear and I Watch really are in person. Is PreciousStahr and Suggar the same person. They sound the same. Would Smartypants actually be Shaquita if she already admitted to you who she really is? Not to mention the ptc and fayette folks of Hutch, Nit, Git, $ and anyone else. Do you know that your internet address is attached to your screen name and if anything were needed to go to court it can be subpoenaed?

Submitted by oldbeachbear on Mon, 12/31/2007 - 5:26pm.

I don't know why you are implying that you, or someone else will, or could, look up our screen names, unless you think you can intimidate everyone, which you aren't.

As for a forensic audit, I think it is a great idea to put people's minds at ease and show the taxpayers that everything is being done to gain their trust and respect. Something that I can't ever recall being done before. In my eyes, the new group is saying they want everyone to know where we are and what they will do in the furture. They are trying to show the taxpayers they are running an open an honest government. What is wrong with that?

The audit, can be used to obtain a more detailed understanding of the activities that have gone on and to identify areas of risk both in determining the direction we want to go.
They are being proactive. You got a problem with that?

I am not implying that "I" would look up your screen name. It will be interesting to see what happens on the 3rd and if other legal ramifications stem from that meeting. That is why I mentioned screen names. There have been much said about people that are employed or volunteer by the town and many inuendos about what the new officals are planning on this blog. It set the stage for many things.
As far as the audit goes I think that there should be an audit EVERY year in government. Each and every department should have an accurate accounting of their activities. I was just surprised to hear someone mention a "Forensic" audit as opposed to just saying "audit".

Forensic Audit was mentioned because the January 3 Council Agenda Item 14 says “Authorization to Expend Funds for a Forensic Audit”. Look at the Agenda. Black’s Law Dictionary defines Forensic as “belonging to courts of justice”. The implication is that there’s suspicion of financial wrong doing? Those people who some call “trouble makers” have simply been asking questions for years, but our secret government has always ignored or put them down. Citizens don’t know what’s going on. Here’s what we do know. Barry makes up the budget which is confusing as to numerous expenditures. As far back as the late 90’s Barry and a Purchase Order Employee had disagreements over purchases order procedures. The Employee was later fired. No one including the employee knows why? Shortly there after the Code Enforcer met with Mayor Lee about serious management concerns. He was ignored and quit in frustration. Certain equipment was bought, but no one can find any record of the transaction. The bidding process is apparently not being followed as to the number of bids required. Certain Tyrone businesses who are on the bid list have never been asked to bid. When asking to see if their names are on the bid list, Valerie tells them that “we are just a small town and are not that formal”. No one can ever verify anything. Impact fees are collected from builders, but never applied to the purpose. The builders association has demanded a refund but been ignored. The budget doesn’t reflect where the fees go. Allocation of sewer fees cannot be identified. Occupational taxes are collected from businesses but the legal use cannot be ascertained. All court ordered documents were not produced. The list goes on and on, but secrecy is the order of the day. The new government does not want to be liable for problems they did not create, and since they are aware, to ignore problems would make them co-conspirators to any illegalities.

For the information on the Forensic Audit.

I wasn't aware of all that. I did know they got rid of a person that had a very good reputation and then it seemed there was an attempt to cast doubt on that person. From all I've gathered, it would be like implying Mary Poppins was running a house in a red light district. It didn't go over real big. I can't imagine how hurt that person must have been.

I'm so proud of the outstanding people we now have in office. It shows how good, honest, and trustworthy they are to approach everything this way. It just makes me respect them more and in my eyes, shows how sincere they are. We are lucky to have them and they have a lot of ugly work in front of them. Some things they will be able to fix, and others, are unrepairable. The unrepairable I feel they will take steps to make sure they never happen again. When I say this, I'm thinking of the trashed cemetery on Trickum Creek. From what I've found, there seems to be, or was, a graveyard with small children, slaves, probably 2 confederate soldiers, and an old founding family Irishman, who looks like could have been a vet from the war of 1812. Not only was this someones loved ones, it could have been labled a historic site and marked. We lost someones history there, black and white.

First the Forensic Audit- Again I do not have a problem with accountability.

Second- the difference between the old and the newly elected officals-What is going to be the difference. The newly elected officals are tight and are in each others pockets. That is the same type of thing that bloggers on this board accused the old elected officals of doing. From the outside looking in it appears that there are no differences.

Thirdly the grave site. It is sad that this has occured. Why has the coucilwoman that has brought it to the forefront not done something about it. Many of her friends are the same people that have discussed the autrocities at many meetings. Simply put: a fence on either side of the street to protect it from further damage would be the most appropriate thing. Did the owner of the property speak at one of the council meetings? Why has he not done something.

Fourth- Precious stahr do you or sugarfoot ever say anything nice.

I am not trying to be a Richard Head(comment #4 is the only exception) but I do not understand many bloggers hit and run methods. Blame has been put on the staff members but you never have held any council members responsible for allowing something to happen. ALL of the council members should be accountiable for everything that happens. They are the leaders of the town. Previous meetings were like elementary school when it was boys against the girls. It seemed like no one got a long and did not try to work things out. How can government be run like that?
That is all I got for now.

Earlier you were implying blogging Ids could be traced for law suits.."The newly elected officals are tight and are in each others pockets." You seem to have forgotten your own advice. Are you taking any medicine for these mood swings? The more you guys blog, the more I feel Shaniqua,Smartypants, and Dudley dodo, are all the same, or at least, share the same IQ. I will not respond to either of your 3 personalities again...and I hope no one else does either. It again sounds like you are saying things to get a rowe out of people, and you are too booring to talk to.

Sorry,as the name Dudley implies I am a he not a Shaniqua, and not smartypants.
"Most of the new members ARE tight".
My reason for those thoughts are the follwing examples: I saw Ms. Furr in a "vote for Renwaldt" t-shirt along with her husband. The neighborhood alliance, which the new mayor was a member, supported both Ms. Caldwel and Ms. Furr's campaigns. Those are just a couple examples. I asked questions; what is the big deal? Why get all pi$$ed off. You seem to always "not respond again" when asked a question concering these people. I am not being a Richard Head but feel the questions deserve an answer. What is the difference between the old group and the new group?
I mentioned subpoenaing IP addresses for the reason to remind people that if something gets ugly on January 3rd these bolgs can be used.
