Reasons make "water-boarding" OK--huh, muddle?
The Columnist, L. Chavez, indicates in this paper that since we were scared after 9/11 and some anthrax was being passed around, that we had a right to torture people that we assumed to be the enemy. Also, many people thought for sure we would be bombed again, etc., right away,
The water-boarding apparently stopped it from happening! Would it be possible to talk to one of those who were water-boarded now and ask him if he told them anything that saved us?
She also thinks the CIA middle level section manager who she says authorized the destruction of tapes showing torture, that congress now wants to see, was fine and he should get a medal!
The temporary, acting CIA Director at that time, McGlothlan, said today that they gave all of the papers everyone wanted at the time, and that no one asked for tapes!
Muddle needs to describe how all this is the absolute "truth" that he writes about all of the time!
I think muddle and many others consider the "truth" to be what has been beaten to death with research and is the best path to follow for the general good. After all we must have faith and believe in something worth arguing about.
