An unhappy customer at Bruster’s Ice Cream in Fayetteville pointed a gun at a clerk before driving off early Monday evening, police said.

The customer, angry that he was denied a refund on a partially eaten ice cream, had a tattoo on his top left forearm that said “Wheeler CO,” said Lt. Steve Crawshaw of the Fayetteville Police Department.

The suspect was described as a black male with a muscular build driving what was possibly a Chevy van that was dark blue with a ladder and a window on the back, Crawshaw said.

When the customer pulled the semi-automatic handgun and pointed it at the female clerk, she immediately ducked and went to the back to get her manager’s attention, and police were summoned to the scene, Crawshaw said.

The incident took place around 6:30 p.m. at the establishment, located on Ga. Highway 314 one block from Creekwood Trail.

The report failed to detail the ice cream flavor that led to the customer’s armed complaint.

Was that comment supposed to be funny? Why would you even think of trying humor on such a serious story such as this? This could have been a fatal situation. Personally, I don't think it's funny at all that these kinds of situations are happening more and more frequently around what was once considered a safe and friendly county.

The reporter was making fun of the fact that someone would actually pull a gun on someone over something so trivial as an ice cream. The reporter in no way stated he thought the situation was funny at all. You reached your own conclusions, which in my opinion are totally wrong.
Of course you can ask the reporter what he meant...but either way you need to get a sense of humour.

I misspelled humor...now no one needs to write a rude comment like I know a lot of you like to do.

That a thug walked up to a parked car that the occupants (dad and his children) were sitting in while waiting for someone to come out of the store? If I recall properly, the thug walked up to the drivers side window and shot the father in the head in front of his kids because his headlights remained on while the car was running? That's been several years ago, but it seems like this was the start of our thug crime problems.

I am glad no one got killed or hurt over some ice cream. What is wrong with this guy? Must have some issues to pull a gun on someone over some ice cream.

Angry black guy in a dark blue van with a ladder and a window on the back. Should be too hard to find.

Do you still own that dark blue van? Why... Oh... no reason. Just askin.

At Starbucks, they know Hack means no harm. He fools around like that all the time. I'm sure this was all just a very big misunderstaning. Hack... you didn't have to flee to the bad lands of the Indian Territory. Come back... we'll vouch for you.

Eye-wink

Have a tattoo that you can't wash off and then everyone looking for knows you are the guy. Brilliant!
