It was a busy week for copper theft, burglary and theft by receiving stolen property, resulting in the arrest of three Tyrone residents.

A homeowner on Senoia Road notified police Dec. 3 that upon arriving home at approximately 12:50 p.m. she found that a door to her home had been forced open, according to police spokesperson Alicia Batts. Det. Lt. Dean Johnson responded to the call, confirming the woman’s report of the forced entry and that miscellaneous items from the home were laying on the floor and counter areas.

Upon searching the area, Johnson was told by a witness that a male and a female had been seen walking in the woods near the Senoia Road residence at approximately 11:30 a.m., Batts said. Continued checks of the surrounding area led Johnson to Whispering Pines mobile home park. While checking residences, Johnson approached one of the homes and through the front door noticed some of the items stolen from the Senoia Road residence, said Batts.

Arrested at the scene on charges of burglary were Tyrone residents Aaron A. Childress, 25, and Kimberly A. Parham, 24, said Batts.

Items recovered at the residence included a large amount of jewelry, binoculars, a digital camera and a number of miscellaneous items.

In a Dec. 5 incident, Autumn Trace resident Andrew K. Barber, 26, was arrested on two counts of theft by receiving, according to police reports.

Police received a report in the early afternoon hours that a white male had been seen driving a four-wheeler onto vacant lots along Kenmare Road, said Batts. Attempting to locate the driver, Det. Johnson was told by workers in the area they had seen a four-wheeler matching the description pulling onto Autumn Trace. Johnson located the residence and the four-wheeler and spoke with Barber, Batts said. When questioned about the four-wheeler, Barber said it belonged to someone in Riverdale. A check of the vehicle identification number revealed that the vehicle had been stolen in Coweta County in December 2006. Another vehicle at the residence, a 1996 Nissan Maxima, was found to have been stolen from Fulton County in November, said Batts. Barber was arrested on two counts of receiving stolen property, she said.

Another burglary with no arrests to date occurred at the new Tyrone Library on Commerce Drive. Police were notified Dec. 3 by construction company representative John Taylor that the building had been entered sometime between Nov. 30 and Dec. 2, said Batts. Taylor said copper wire had been stolen from the ceiling area of one of the rooms, along with four rolls of copper wire stored in a closet. The value of the wire was placed at approximately $500.

These sewer rats better get the maximum sentence. If you would stop waffling, and charge people with everything you possibly can under the law, they would stop coming here.

What happened to the time when grown men would cry once they realized they had just been arrested in FayetteNAM??? If they knew they would get maximum everytime they would think twice. Get with the program or get out!

Smiling The silence on the issue is deafening. Six kids who confessed to robbing their neighbors and possibly selling on Ebay are 'suspended' from school until further investigation. Hmmmmmmm. Justice equally and rapidly applied again. Wonderful! (Hack - you and your son better cover up your tattoos) What is humorous to some - is like a kick in the stomach to others.

However - I'm encouraged that at least someone in this discussion realized that Heidi Becker is no long-standing Republican!! She is an articulate, knowledgeable woman who was an outstanding leader in the Fayette County Democratic Club when I first arrived in Fayetteville. (2004) I guess the political reality is that today - one must be a Republican to be elected or re-elected in Fayette County. It seems 'labels' are more important to some people here than principle and goals. I was impressed with Heidi’s leadership and organizational skills. I wasn’t sure that the Republican candidate Heidi was the same one that I met 4 years ago. (And it saddens me that she is.) It's a shame that some of the electorate in Fayette County pays more attention to labels - than to the goals and record of the candidate.

It's amazing how many people who voted for the "R" in 2000 instead of the Nobel guy or instead of the actual veteran in 2004 have buyer's remourse. How many people would take back their Logsdon vote if they could? I wouldn't have to as I never cast one. If you know your party is free market and pro big business, and you want measured growth without big business and big box sprawl, why would you blindly cast votes for Rs only? It seems self defeating. On a national level, this kind of loyalty irrespective of one's ability is the exact reason we are trying to figure out what is wrong with Washington. I imagine I've voted for many more Republicans than most bloggers have voted for democrats. I hope that this phenomenon has a limited life span here locally. Nationally, I think we as a country are "over it."

I think I know who it is but can't prove it. One day, when I become an old crotchety Cyclist, I'm going to put in a CCTV system in. I'll catch that *&^#$ dead in his tracks.
