The fifth season of the Chick-fil-A Bowl’s highly successful youth football program will wrap up on Dec. 8 with the Chick-fil-A Bowl Youth Football Championship Games at Georgia Tech’s Bobby Dodd Stadium. The 16-week season culminates with the best teams playing in front of the biggest crowds of the year in a first-class NCAA facility. Bobby Dodd Stadium will be turned into a “miniature Chick-fil-A Bowl” including actual bowl game signage, field decorations, player uniform patches, appearances from the Chick-fil-A cow mascots and other bowl game elements. In the championship games, teams from the Gwinnett Football League and North Georgia Football League will face off at the seventh and eighth-grade levels. The Georgia Youth Football Conference and the United Youth Football Conference will compete at the 120- and 140-pound divisions. The Fayette County Blue Devils (UYFC) will take on Gresham Park (GYFC) at 11 a.m. Tickets to the Championship are five dollars at the gate. Fans that bring two canned goods for donation to the Atlanta Community Food Bank will receive a discounted admission of four dollars. Players and cheerleaders participating in the Championship will also be asked to bring canned food donations. All of the proceeds from admission will go to the four Chick-fil-A Bowl Youth Football partner leagues. Fans will be able to participate in several interactive games provided by Corporate Events and Meetings. Activities will include an accuracy-throwing game, a carnival-style football toss and a football pop-a-shot game. Prior to the actual Chick-fil-A Bowl on Dec. 31, the winning youth teams will participate in the “Team Walks” before the Clemson and Auburn players at the FanFest pep rally celebration. login to post comments |
