What's up with the "log-In" process?

TonyF's picture

If anyone else is having trouble, what gives? It seems very difficult to get signed in these days. Or, is it just me? help!!!

It is apparently "Explorer."
I downloaded "Firefox," and it connected me immediately!

Ditto here. Using Firefox and the login is working fine. Mr. Billy G can keep IE for himself. Evil Firefox FTW!

I haven't been able to log in for months, despite changing my password multiple times. My screen name would appear as being logged on, but I couldn't post comments. I'd all but given up on posting, but I just downloaded Firefox and had no problem logging in. So, it would seem the problem has something to do with Internet Explorer. Thanks to all those Firefox enthusiasts!

She stopped posting about the same time I had log-in problems. I fixed mine by dumping all my temp files, personal data, and caches, but it was a struggle!

I think if anybody else is having similar problems, and dumping temp files doesn't work, they can switch browsers like you did, or uninstall their current browser completely, then reinstall it. (not all of Windows, just the browser)

I've been reading some of the comments lately but have had too little time to jump in with a post, but thanks for asking.

I have TWO guys who take care of my computer; so all I have to do is type and click (most of the time)! One of these days I'll have to try to understand their lingo, but right now I just let them read all of those boring Smiling computer books & magazines & listen to Kim Komando (not really boring). (I don't change the oil in my car either -- or know anything about the motor, etc.!) Firefox is on my computer (Explorer also) and is the one that I use because it was recommended. I've not had log-in problems before, but then I haven't tried this past week or two. Maybe you need more RAM or need to delete spyware (adware -- SPYBOT is on my computer) or just restart your computer more often (to clear temp files?) (if these are the right terms)?

Hopefully, I can get back with thoughts on your last post to me soon. I think that I "know" who you are (not Basmati the Mean), but I won't tell. Smiling

Maybe that's why you carry TWO pistols. Eye-wink

Good to hear from you, and I'm glad the login monster hasn't claimed your computer. (yet)

I've learned to appreciate being anonymous, so thanks for your discretion on that matter.

I suspect you are about to get flooded with greetings--you've been missed. Catch ya later!

Sorry Cy...I guess I need to schedule an appointment with Dr. Denise now? Sad

And $/nitpickers/Mr. Dsmith Goes to the Hospital: hope you can come next time. I'll even buy ONE of your online personalities coffee. I dare say we would have fun...I know Dr. D would. Smiling

I don't know about smith and dollar.

However, I don't advise such gettogethers!

Eventually serious trouble, or a totally useless blog system.

Why don't you just ask $Smith & $Dollar$? Laughing out loud

What "serious trouble" do you predict? Will the 3 of you (or is it 4 now with BONKERS) argue among yourselves or gang up on everybody else? Puzzled

Most people know how to behave in public. Don't you? Laughing out loud

I have computers that can't log on. I have a couple of others that never have problems. It seems like my older laptop has the easiest time. I started thinking Git Real was cyber-hacking me to keep me from running my trap. Smiling. I have no idea why, but I'll log on, it will show my screen name on the right as me being logged on, but when I go to post it tells me to log on first Sad. I don't get it

"I have computers that can't log on. I have a couple of others that never have problems."

"Computers" -- as in more than one? Maybe YOU are really $Dollar / $Nit / $Smith / Bonker$, etc. You do have a lot of free time since you're a pilot (from what other pilots have told me). Puzzled Laughing out loud

You so far have stiff armed us on three occasions, and I don't know how much more my fragile ego can take. I hope you make the next meeting. You will be very glad you did. It's amazing how abnormal; sorry; normal we all are. And no fistfights. Have a good week!

I didn't know about 3 meetings, only 2, and I almost missed the blog about the last one. I do value my privacy Eye-wink and can't help but wonder what would happen if I did show up, considering the animosity that's been expressed by some bloggers. Puzzled Maybe I should send a pro-life pharmacist in my place -- just to test the waters? Eye-wink

But **THANKS** for asking. Smiling I've read the comments & am glad that my observation that there are so many pleasant people locally is validated. Rick R would say that it's Southern sweet tea, not coffee, that brings out the best in people. Laughing out loud Someone who overheard bloggers' various comments while sitting nearby with clients confirmed "no fistfights" and how youthful looking you are. Botox must really work, or did you have some of those cucumber facials that Rick R told us about? Puzzled Laughing out loud

Missed you at the Stem Cell and Human Cloning presentation at Heritage Bank Friday p.m. Very informative. Josh is young (early 20s) but an effective speaker. He had testified before the Ga. Senate that morning (with only 12 hours notice) about inheritance laws affecting frozen embryos. One little "frozen embryo" was there to say "hi" -- she's a 3-year-old toddler now. (See Nightlight Adoptions for more info about Snowflake babies.) Josh is from California, so that must be why hostile questioners and last-minute requests don't discomfit his sangfroid. (Notice the new vocab words -- for someone else who reads these posts regularly.)

"The Way Starbucks Sees It" and "Starbucks: A Habit Easily Broken" -- Why I like Chick-fil-A (WinShape Homes) better Smiling

I don't think it is due to Internet Explorer. Last week, I was having very similar log-in problems to what you described, and I was using Firefox. I even got the webmaster to change my password, assuming that my password had gotten changed or corrupted. That didn't fix the problem, but what finally did fix the problem was to erase all my temp files and caches. Since it sounds like several of you have had the same problem, I think it must be something to do with this webpage, but I have no idea what.

If anybody else is having similar problems, try going through your Tools/Options and clear all your "private data" and caches.
