After a workshop meeting that lasted past 10 p.m., the Fayette County Board of Education said there were too many questions that needed to be answered about the redistricting maps to stage a public forum Nov.26.
Instead, the board wants to meet with the redistricting committee on that day to ask questions about the process that led to the new maps that could send more than 2,000 elementary school students to new schools next year.
"I've got about six pages of questions that I've already written down," said board chairman Terri Smith.
The board believes after its questions are answered, a public forum could be held Dec.10.

Check with your school's front office staff, each school is to have a notebook with that information.

The disfavor with the BOE is finally hitting critical mass. Parents in certain areas are now starting to link their concerns and just wait and see if the BOE members don't start turning over in the next elections.

The current redistricting screw-ups will probably be the straw which breaks the camel's back.

I would really like the Boe and in particular the Board Members to admit their mistake with the new Inman road school. They voted for the newest elementary school that was built in the wrong place! We needed a new school in Tyrone at the Tillman Road site and in the West Village. Last fall the Board voted on the Inman site. A four to one vote was cast and now 28% of the Fayette County Kids will go to a new school next fall. Let's see if the Board will take responsibility for this HUGE mistake.
