FCHS Tigers: Play Off Draw Bad as it Gets?

The fates, and whomever in charge of setting up play off brackets and Region teams, seem to have conspired to test FCHS Tigers to the limit.

The 10 and 0 Region 2 AAAA Champion Tigers (ranked 7 in the State by AJC) play, by some quirk, the 4th ranked in State, number two in region 4, 8-1 Baldwin Braves the very first round!

In contrast, White Water, second to the Tigers in Region 2 AAAA, will play the unranked, unheralded, five and five Lovejoy Wildcats the first round. Strange!

It doesn't get better. Standing between the Tigers and the Championship Game stands number two ranked Tucker and Number one Ranked NorthSide Warner Robins. Whining? Maybe I am, but the Tigers are not ... "Bring Em On", they say. But playing three of the top four teams on the way to playing the Championship game is a lot of wear and tear.

Why is it Region 1 has but four teams, all of which go to the playoffs; and region 4 (4A and 4B) has fifteen teams, four going to playoffs?

I am proud to see all the complementary copy and post concerning a very deserving FCHS Football Team. It is a welcome change.

From 0-0 all the way to 10-0, Fayette County High's victories have been appended with or demeaned by some excuse for their win. As the wins pilled up, the most common explanation for the Tiger's success was that the whole region was weak ... this from not only other schools, but the media as well. I am guessing if Fayette wins State Championship, there will be those few who will say the whole state of Georgia AAAA was weak, even as others finally jump on the Fayette Tiger band Wagon.

Well, by some fluke of scheduling, the number one seed Tigers will open the Play-Off's against a fourth seed team ranked by AJC as 4th best in the State. Baldwin is ranked higher than five of the number one seeds in the Play-Off Bracket, including Fayette County. After beating Baldwin, the number two ranked team, Tucker, Looms before getting to the Dome. At the Dome, it is probable they will face number one ranked NS Warner Robins before playing for the Championship. If the road they have to travel to State Champs doesn't afford them deserved respect from all, what will?

Not exactly sure what is the "official" site for playoff information -- but on the way home from last night's FCHS/SMHS game, Coach Webb told the players they would be playing Baldwin on 11/16.

Later last night, when the Playoff Brackets were first loaded with teams/games, GASports.com did have FCHS playing Lovejoy, but later still it changed to Baldwin. So, there is some confusion as to who will play who. But I'd place odds with the Coach having the "most correct" information at this time.

Hey, I just thrilled our boys earned post-season play, and words can't describe my thoughts for them going 10 - 0 for the season -
I LOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEE IT!!!!!

Like you, I'm so proud of them. If it's Baldwin then so be it. Those young men have at least three things going for them, home field, us fans, and they're ready. GO TIGERS!!!!

ck your information bud, before you start alluding to conspiracy theories, Whitewater is playing Baldwin, not FCHS.

And don't be hard on yourself, both teams will indeed be tested in the post-season since our region was weaker than last year; and this is not taking anything away from how well FCHS and WHS did this season. Have faith in the Tigers, they have what it takes to play for the title.

it seems FCHS should host Lovejoy, and WHS should host Baldwin. That's what the schedule is showing for next week, however the bracket is showing FCHS/Baldwin and WHS/Lovejoy. Who knows???

According to GaSports.com FCHS is playing Baldwin not Lovejoy so who to believe, how about is Mikey or Kevin who do we really play?
