NO INFLATION THEY SAY
Not if you don't count oil (half of our stuff made from oil), Gold (used in many products), corn (our staple), copper (used everywhere).
All of the products have gone up 50-75% in last three years, except oil which has gone from $15 in 1998 t0 about $100 today.
Property taxes have increased 10-20% per year.
Services have doubled in last five years.
($40 per hour to $80 per hour).
Tooth cleaning from $50 to $125 in last five years, plus they find MUCH more wrong to patch.
Pair of glasses from $45 to $400 in last ten years, plus--well you know.
Health care, Up about 500% in ten years.
Food, up about 100% in six years with a few exceptions both ways. (Three dollar grapes and tomatoes, but canned slop is up only about 20%)
Meat (good beef) now $10-12 from $5.99 about five years ago---pig meat up about same proportion.
Yet, Washington says only 2-3% per year in order raise social security checks--and on top of that they increase the health premium more than the raise, netting retired people -1.5%!
We have also created a bunch of paperwork jobs paying well which we would not miss if half were eliminated.
