Daniel J. Lakly, 65, Peachtree City, died Oct. 29, 2007. He was born Aug. 8, 1942 in Forest Hills, Pa. He joined the United States Navy in 1959 serving aboard the USS Howard D. Crow. He was stationed outside Guantanamo Bay during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was discharged in 1963 and served in the Merchant Marines. He moved to Peachtree City in 1978. He won his first city council seat in1986 and served until 1987. He served on the Fayette County Board of Commissioners from 1988 to 1992. He served as a Georgia state representative from 1992 to 1998, and again 2004 until the present. He was a member of the Peachtree City Kiwanis. A funeral mass was held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Michael Kingery officiating. Survivors include his childhood sweetheart, whom he married in 1967, Donna Lee Lakly, Peachtree City; sons, Daniel Steven Lakly, Decatur, David Lee Lakly, Peachtree City, and Donald Joseph Lakly, Athens; grandsons, Connor James Lakly, John Michael Lakly, Benjamin John Lakly, and Andrew Robert Lakly; siblings, Caroline Kuchar, Pittsburgh, Pa., Helen Marie Schlabach, Phoenix, Ariz., George Matthew Lakly Jr., Pittsburgh, Pa., Mary Jane Green, Phoenix, Ariz., and Timothy Raymond Lakly, Tampa, Fla. Memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 101 Walk Banks Road, Peachtree City, GA 30269. Carl J.
