The second major shopping complex on South Fulton Parkway and the first inside Union City city limits was approved Oct. 29 by Union City Planning Commission. The preliminary plat for South Fulton Crossing shows a 450,000 square-foot commercial center anchored by a Wal-Mart Supercenter. The shopping center is located on the northwest corner of South Fulton Parkway and Ga. Highway 92. Plans for the center are still in the preliminary stage with little information available on perspective businesses that might locate there. Current information supplied by Weingarten Realty Investors showed plans for two large parcels and 15 outparcel buildings. The main anchor for the center will be Wal-Mart, with a potential opening date in the first quarter of 2009. Future plans for the development include the potential for an unspecified residential component, situated north of the commercial development and south of Hall Road. Directly across Hwy. 92, the first phase of Parkway Village shopping center is expected to open near Thanksgiving. Publix will anchor the first phase with Home Depot serving as anchor for the second phase, expected to open in early 2008. Businesses purchasing space at Parkway Village include Home Depot, Wachovia Bank, Walgreen’s, McDonald’s and Zaxby’s. Tenants include Publix, Starbucks, Pak Mail, Johnny’s Pizza, China Wok, Presidential Cuts, F & S Spirits, Dr. Renee Samuels (Dentist), Subway, Salon Vibe, Royalty Beauty Supply, an unnamed nail salon and a dry cleaners. The remaining 17 businesses have yet to be announced. login to post comments |
