Can you believe that this garbage is actually being taught to college students. It sounds more like a form of Nazi propoganda.

Yes, having spent years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I do believe it.

One very clear implication of Shakti Butler's presentation (see below) is that all and only white people are racists.
Every paragraph contains at least one laughably stupid howler. Consider this gem:

A RACIST: A racist is one who is both privileged and socialized on the basis of race by a white supremacist (racist) system. The term applies to all white people (i.e., people of European descent) living in the United States, regardless of class, gender, religion, culture or sexuality. By this definition, people of color cannot be racists, because as peoples within the U.S. system, they do not have the power to back up their prejudices, hostilities, or acts of discrimination. (This does not deny the existence of such prejudices, hostilities, acts of rage or discrimination.)”

It's not just that the content is offensive to all people of good will. You have to have your head in a bucket to miss the many non sequiters, begged questions, and self-contradictions. Ms. Butler might have been well seved to have had a good course in logic before putting pen to paper. (Oh, but I forgot. Logic is yet another tool of oppression invented by white European males.)

I once had a black student approach me after a lecture on Anselm's ontological argument for the existence of God. He informed me that "the white man made up words like 'ontological' to keep the black man down." He added that I shouldn't expect to see many black students in my philosophy classes because I used racially charged words like "epistemology" and "metaphysics."

We are living through a period of absolute cultural insanity and schizophrenia. If sanity ever prevails, future historians will shake their heads in wonder at it all.
