Peachtree City’s Finance Department has been honored with a prestigious award for “excellence in financial reporting.”

It is the highest award presented by the Government Finance Officers Association in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

The city’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report was deemed to meet the high standards of the program, including a “spirit of full disclosure” to demonstrate its financial story and motivate potential users to read it, officials said.

The award was presented to Finance Director Paul Salvatore and Assistant Finance Director Janet Camburn at last week’s City Council meeting.

Outgoing Councilman Steve Rapson, who himself is chief financial officer for the new Sandy Springs government, said he understood the importance of the award and congratulated the pair.

The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving more than 15,000 government finance professionals.

Does this award apply to the Tennis Center debt to Peachtree National Bank (Synovis)?

I think these authorities work somewhat like Bush runs the war! All off the books.
The town's books just show non-authority stuff!
