Seniors leading with passion, FCHS is backTue, 10/16/2007 - 4:26pm

What would you consider a long time — one year, two years, five, how about 10? It’s been 10 painstaking years since Fayette High has been to the Dome. And now, the whole school, no, the whole county is watching and waiting. People at Starr’s Mill and Whitewater have heard a commotion in Fayette County and are asking, can Fayette return to their former glory? Does this batch of renegade players have what it takes to restore the good name of Fayette football? Can they go where others have tried and failed? Or will the tradition of Fayette football fade into oblivion? The answer is NO. These are a new breed. They have something that no varsity team has had in 10 years — heart. They have a passion burning in them; they have a will to succeed that no trash talk can take away. Will we win them all? I don’t know. But will they ever stop? No. They continue till the whistle blows, the lights go out, and every play executed to perfection. These seniors will lead Fayette County into a new decade, new eras in Fayette High, where basketball isn’t the only winning sport. The stage is set, the dome ready, lights on, helmets strapped, and a fire in their eyes that can’t be quenched. They won’t be denied their destiny, their claim to fame. They’re ready. Are you?
