BTW, I'm going win the get out of the office race today. May other truck - that the son drives - is ready for pick-up. I have to leave early to discuss with this in-town car dealer - who shall remain anonymous - about the cost of the repair. I got the price down to under $500 which they said would take over a $1,100 to fix. More to come on this adventure.

Car dealer, mechanics, repairmen, oy, don't get me started. I usually can see their eyes light up as they rub their hands together with that little he he he under their breath, when they see a woman coming in for repairs . . . I've PO'd some fine mechanics, but only because they weren't straight with me. I simply do not understand how I can go to the parts store and find something for $20, yet my bill at mechanic is over $100, ohhhhh they don't like it when you question that sort of thing. I understand their wealth of knowledge and that I don't know how to do something, but durn, knowledge and labor couldn't possibly be that much.

I had to take notes the other day when Muddle asked about fair car repair. . . seems I'm often looking for a new mechanic!!! Wonder why!

easy like Dr Muddle's tire issue. The place I'm dealing with was trying to sell me more than what I needed to fix the truck and I called them on it. But for someone with no knowledge they would be taken advantage of. I hate that to no end.
