In the first-ever local Dragon Boat races, the City of Peachtree City is Sunk

Team members seek help after the City of Peachtree City’s Dragon Boat capsized following its first race, soaking team members Mayor Harold Logsdon, City Manager Bernie McMullen and Director of Leisure Services Randy Gaddo, among others. The city’s team placed last in the region’s first Dragon Boat racing event, while a boat sponsored by The Citizen avoided last place by less than one second. The top six finishers at the first Dragon Boat races in Peachtree City were: 1. Dragon Boat of Atlanta, 1:09.02, 2. Dragon Flies, 1:09.31, 3. Air Tran, 1:09.65, 4. World Gym, 1:09.89, 5. Hella A, 1:10.23,
6. Pace GeoTechnical, 1:10.52. Photo/John Munford.

What a great day! Many thanks to everyone who help put on this fun event. A special thanks to The Citizen for it great coverage, the City for all it help and the Venue and The Rotary Club of Peachtree City for putting it on. The finals were amazing less than a second seperated the 6 boats. This event is only going to get better each year. And to The Citizen your Team was only 6 seconds from winning it all. (Sounds better than next to Last)
