I've been traveling and haven't had time to post recently. To answer your question though, I am a big fan of Neal's, been listening to him since he was on WRNG! He is consistently wrong about most stuff but entertaining. I bet you buy that crap he's shoveling out about the FairTax and global warming too (congrats to Al Gore by the way!)

Don't listen to Rush and Sean much. If I want the Republican party line I can just go to their website or watch Fox. I listen to Laura occasionally but I mostly find her analysis fairly shallow and repetitive. There's a guy on 920 in the afternoon I listen to sometimes but I can't remember his name. Boortz is by far the best.

Have a nice weekend!

Denise - You left the one out where Hitlary wants to "take those profits" from the oil companies and invest them in some sort of government fund. (See link)

"I want to TAKE those profits..."

No misquoting or misinterpreting that. She will use government power to confiscate oil company profits (that rightfully belong to shareholders by force.

Hillary is a Socialist, and the most dangerous woman in the world.
She will destroy our great country, all in the name of gaining power over the individual if elected.

The venom of compassionate christiany conservatives is growing quite intersesting. Hardened socialist? Denise, you are losing your footing I believe. At least investigate something before you simply cut and paste it to see if it is accurate info. Learn from my mistakes, Denise. Extreme disdain for Carter and Clinton is pushing you ever so close to the edge of reason. Denise, the group of people who think and vocalize as you do calling Americans socialists and bleeding heart christian bashing liberals is going to secure the presidency for whom you feel is a hardened socialist. LAUGHable comment in a country where presidents usually go through congress which is charged to draft legislation. See my post on Ann Coulter and you will see who Jewish people might think is a more dangerous woman. Read what Michele Malkin has to say about a 12 year old boy and his family (statements that have fallen short of truth) and you'll see a woman who SCHIP recipients feel is more dangerous than Hillary. Talk to the ex wife of Rudy Giuliani or his kids and you will see a potential first lady they fear more than hillary.

Did you read the context of the quotes you printed? Lies, huh?
Like a lot of the other stuff you copy---aren't thought through!
Boortz gets no credit for anything due to his Coulter like way of talking. (The latest about Coulter: she wants to "perfect" (born again) the Jews, as she is perfected). Her dress was at lest 36" above her knees, with panties showing when she said it! I don't mind the dress, just the pretension.
No, I think you are correct that you weren't the source for the quotes, you aren't smart enough to design them, in my opinion. You are dangerous!

Conservative, and rich, republicans will go to any extreme, including false quotations, to discredit any liberal---even any moderate like Clinton!
It is similar to some of their secret societies where they swear to do "what is necessary" to accomplish their goals.
Pretension of devout religion is one; family values is another; indicate liberals tax and spend---conservatives do not; making unearned profits is righteous if not caught; and of course protecting such people as Ollie North, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and corporate thieves to the end of the world.
None of them will look up and read the snopes report on Hillary Jeff, they aren't smart enough to understand such things.

Are you sure you don't want to claim 2nd prize at least -- the Hillary Clinton Talking Action Figure with a "4-minute audio chip allowing 25 different phrases in the former First Lady's voice" and "biographical pamphlet ("The Life of Hilary Rodham Clinton") that includes rare photos and a comprehensive timeline."

Inappropriately, "the action figure comes in a delightful patriotic display of the Amercian [sic] flag decorated throughout the box."

Hear some of her phrases, such as "Whatever one thinks about the decision to go into Iraq, that's water under the dam. We've got to win, and we have to establish a stable, functioning Iraq" and "I deplore the politics of personal destruction."

I guess she forgot that one when she made her "willing suspension of disbelief" comment to Gen. Petraeus and gave tacit approval to the Gen. Betray-Us ad and would not vote in favor of the "Cornyn Amendment supporting General Petraeus and our troops and repudiating MoveOn.org for its despicable attack on the General’s personal integrity and honor."

"Hillary Clinton, Socialist Still" by Deroy Murdock

“'I am a fan of a lot of the social policies that you find in Europe.'” (I have a suggestion for her: move to Europe!)

"The ever-cautious Clinton occasionally exposes her true ideological core. 'We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.'” (Karl Marx comes to mind.)

“'We must stop thinking of the individual and start thinking about what is best for society.'”

It is becoming quite amusing to hear Hillary Clinton's name thrown about at GOP debates as an instant "amen" grabber that allows even Fred Thompson to get applause without begging.

I can certainly understand why hearing someone offering "ideas" seems quite novel to my friendly conservatives. Not many new ideas from your camp in a while. But here is what Hack found to be pathetic:

It is pathetic that a Presidential candidate in the USA would refer to the Soviet Union in the present tense. It is pathetic that Mitt Romney would need to "talk with my lawyers" to figure out if the president could launch military strikes against another nation without congress. It is pathetic that Rudy Giuliani thinks the president of the USA can attack a sovereign nation without congressional approval.

At the GOP debates last night, I saw three front-runners trying to outmacho eachother with respect to their willingness to go to war with Iran. I saw Fred Thompson who truly seemed like a spectator. Do conservatives not realize that we have had 7 years of shoot-from-the hip diplomacy which hasn't worked out so well? And yet Maximus, you think I should fear a successful Senator from New York who is trying to figure out how to get more children healthcare and more affordable college educations? Fear the New York candidate who's child actually is still on speaking terms with them? The New Yorker who saved her marraige rather than discarding it like an under-insured Georgia pre-teen? Max, I'm sorry bro, but I tend to fear more those who, while being in no personal risk, are prepared to invade country number 3 while we are still searching for solutions in counties 1 and 2; Those who, with the swipe of a pen and the same precious tax dollars you are referring to will engage in open-ended commitments. You do realize, Maximus, that every appropriation's bill the president moves through obligates tax payers, don't you? It isn't magic money. Is our president a socialist too, or a marxist, or militarist? What's with you guys? Compassionate conservatives who only want tax appropriations to buy up-armored humvees and blackwater contractors. Are you not completely frustrated with the tax bills mounting against our children? Trust me they are going to need Hillary care at this rate!

Trying to save some semblance of representation in the house and senate at the 2008 election is causing republicans much grief right now.
Bush is killing them, yet they can't flat out desert him because it is hard to tell just what the democrats may do in congress over the next year if they do.
It is a true "catch 22."
We are in a bad war and haven't event paid for it yet, we owe nine trillion dollars more than we did when the Republicans took the majority, we have made no progress on health care, we have made no progress on social security, we have done nothing to repair our worn out infrastructure, we have created a heritage of corporate crooks and younger ones coming up to deal with, we have polarized our country about religion in politics in that preachers now preach sermons about what laws the members should support and who should be elected. (ORU President (Republicans) even tried to use a University to elect people, and on it goes.
The military is almost destroyed and maybe we don't know it all yet!
How can the hate be so great that people will put up with all this rather than vote for the opposite of these mistakes?

Bpr,
A co-worker sent me this; I don’t know where he retrieved it from.
How about an open mind, will you?

“Does being Christian mean that you have to be a right-wing conservative, Bush supporter, gay hating, and abortion picketing, white man who gives pat answers to life’s complexities? Then I don’t want to be Christian.

Does being Christian being that you must listen to Christian bands and watch Passion and Narnia or read Left Behind? Then I must not be a Christian.

Does being Christian mean that the West has it one up on everybody else’s faith and practice thereof? Then I really must not be a Christian.

Does being Christian mean that I must attend a church that offers me every single religious good and service imaginable - from mission trips to the third world to small groups that go river rafting? I think I’ll pass.

Do I have to believe that Jesus was a depressed hippie that spread
love and sunshine so we could be happy and whole? Do I have to believe that Jesus’ life objective was for me to have a "relationship," or so he could "come live in my heart," or so that I could be "prosperous, healthy, and wealthy?" How shallow and one dimensional can Christbe… portrayed?

A friend asked me what it means to be Christian? Does it mean being
holier-than-thou, perfect, and ever so righteous - more of everything I am not. Thomas Merton wrote that the highest spiritual development was to be ordinarily human. This stands in the way of Christians who pretend to be extraordinary human beings with supernatural powers that enable them to be perfect, completely moral, all-knowing, polyanna, and frankly, just completely annoying and one giant imposter of a being.

To become fully human means to become so simply and naturally your
true self. The sad thing is, so many of us fail miserably at being our true selves. We walk around like posers, pretending to be more
accomplished, more knowing, more spiritual, more loving, more of
everything we are not and the Church and Christianity is the worse at
creating disciples of such falsity.

Instead, Christians are too concerned at attempting to learn the
language of the world they live in under the argument that Christians
must be "relevant." We toss out Christianese for a hipper language, we play "cool" contemporary music in our churches (when was contemporary music ever cool), and we try hard to pass ourselves off as being in the know - being trendy so that someone who doesn’t get Christianity just might "get it."

When the greatest language one could ever speak is the language of
love, goodness, kindness, grace, affirmation, acceptance, justice,
reconciliation, and the sort. All other attempts at being Christian are just that, an attempt.”

It is unprecedented to have your father speaking as frankly as he is, but I feel it is necessary. Americans have to be forced to actually consider, intellectually, what their country is doing today. Let me tell you a little about the torture of prisoners:
Undoubtedly some (Abu Ghraib) does occur and under orders, but when the truth emerges after Bush leaves, some of it will be pure intimidation by the interrogators.
Remember how evil people in the past have threatened to torture one's children or wives, or mothers, in front of them if they didn't talk?
Well, I think we have stooges tortured (simulated sometimes)in front of these prisoners, scaring them to death.
I don't really know of anything earth shaking they have gotten this way anyway!
Plausible denial for the US government officials is the primary function of the planners, also. Never thought I would see the day of this occurring, since what happened to us in Germany, Japan, Korea by those evil people!

I'm not sure anything happens if we lie under oath!
There are hundreds of trials of one kind or another in the USA every day where one side says this, and the other side says not so.
When the jury or the judge decides, one ia a liar, right? Not much happens to the liar. Lying is usually an opinion anyway.
It depends upon the meaning of the word "is."

By his own admission, Bush also worships a god that is the god of the Islamofacists and the Muslims. I suppose that means we can convert to Islam to protect ourselves from the terrorists and then we can still go to heaven. Not to mention those sixty something virgins that speak only when spoken to. Bush made that real clear this week as to what he believes. Puzzled

I read his book,

So what? Does his book trump what he said last week?

I differ with you,

So what else is new....

I know for a fact what God he believes in.

It's really okay by me if you also believe all the major religions of the world worship the same god. It sounds a little wishy-washy to me though. Puzzled I guess you're in agreement with Bush that all religions worship the same true god? Puzzled

You must watch CNN. Clinton News Network.

Yes I have to admit that I do watch CNN. Let's see....the last time was in mid September when I was waiting for my delayed flight and I was forced into watching it while I awaited my departure. Shocked Other that that, I don't get my news off the Boob Tube, thank you very much. There are dozens of websites and periodicals that I get my facts from Deary. So now that you've used the wore out and so 90's-ish Clinton News Network line on me, a staunch Conservative, what do you say we now take a look at W's own words?

From the mouth of President Bush:

"Well, first of all, I believe in an Almighty God, and I believe that all the world, whether they be Muslim, Christian, or any other religion, prays to the same God. That's what I believe. I believe that Islam is a great religion that preaches peace."

"I do say that freedom is the Almighty's gift to every person. I also condition it by saying freedom is not America's gift to the world," Bush replied. "It's much greater than that, of course. And I believe we worship the same god," reported the London Telegraph.

"We are having an Iftaar dinner tonight – I say, 'we' – it's my wife and I," Bush told Nakouzi. "This is the seventh one in the seven years I've been the president. It gives me a chance to say 'Ramadan Mubarak.' The reason I do this is I want people to understand about my country. In other words, I hope this message gets out of America. I want people to understand that one of the great freedoms in America is the right for people to worship any way they see fit. If you're a Muslim, an agnostic, a Christian, a Jew, a Hindu, you're equally American.

"And the value – the most valuable thing I think about America is that – particularly if you're a religious person – you can be free to worship, and it's your choice to make. It's not the state's choice, and you shouldn't be intimidated after you've made your choice. And that's a right that I jealously guard.

"Secondly, I want American citizens to see me hosting an Iftaar dinner."

Gee BPR! As a Christian are you in agreement with all that? Puzzled

What if all religions do worship the same God?

What if we are all going to share the same heaven? We can't even get along on earth I wonder how sharing heaven is going to work out.

What if all of us imperfect people have interpreted God wrong? What if all of us in our imperfect human minds have gotten the concept of God all wrong?

Just because a president that you worship said something you in your narrow opinion don't agree with you are in a tailspin. What are you going to do when the God you worship lets someone into heaven you don't like?? Then what?

Have a good day.

I will say this once, I believe President Bush believes in ONE GOD, THE ONLY ONE GOD- The REAL GOD. So, with his comment, they pray to what they think is God. The problem is Our True God does not hear them, you have to know Him to have a relatioship with Him. That means you give Him your life and accept His forgiveness. You have to be a Christian to understand. So, with that said the end of President Bush comments, I know he is a Christian.

You must have read the wrong book, because I read he is a CHRISTIAN. I would have to hear this from his own lips, not from yours, and not out context. So, Git Real do you hate Christians, or do you support our last President that caused the war in the first place. Or do you think he was a real man because he cheated on his wife, not that she is any better. Please, common sense- Clinton was a big fake, that our country have been so stupid to believe a word that came out of his mouth- he lied all the time, even under oath! And by the way, we do live in a free country you can worship the way you choose, it may not be my choice, but I am glad I am here, I can worship the true God, that PRESIDENT BUSH believes in- you read the wrong book or you would have gotten it.

You must have read the wrong book, because I read he is a CHRISTIAN.

I didn't read any book about Bush. And I didn't say he wasn't a Christian. What I am saying is that as a supposed Christian he is making remarks that are contrary to what the Bible says about who God is.

I would have to hear this from his own lips, not from yours, and not out context.

Good grief girl. The words were from his lips. Not only did he say these things this past week but he said them back in 2003. I am not taking his words out of context. Good grief again. He's saying these things in an effort to pacify Islamic butts. He's denying who God says he is in an effort to pander to the Muslims.

So, Git Real do you hate Christians,

No BPR. I do not hate Christians. I am a born again, Right-Wing Conservative, Bible believing Southern Baptist boy. Unlike my president I would never claim that my Holy God is the same god as that of the Hindu's and the Muslims. And I sure wouldn't celebrate and honor Ramadan in any way, shape or fashion, regardless of which false religion I would offend. Would you make the same slanderous statements against the god you serve?

or do you support our last President that caused the war in the first place.

Hoo Boy! Are you even worth me wasting my breath on? Puzzled No, I'm not a Clinton supporter and I never was and I never will be. I think he was immoral, corrupt and reckless. However, I do not blindly fault him for the situation and the war we are in today. Nor do I blame "W". This whole mess we're in started long before Jimmy Carter, Reagan, or Clinton ever took office. Mistakes have been made in each of these administrations regarding the handling of our Islamofacist enemies. I do believe Clinton goofed off during a large part of his watch, and in spite of this fact, we would still be in the same mess as we are in right now regarding our war against these evil Muslim scoundrels. The fact is that we are going to fight Islam from now until the day Jesus returns regardless of which party is in power. Rest assured if the Democrats would have been in power we'd be in the same position we are now. Understand that they are liars when they claim they would have never fought terrorism and went after Saddam.

Or do you think he was a real man because he cheated on his wife, not that she is any better. Please, common sense- Clinton was a big fake, that our country have been so stupid to believe a word that came out of his mouth- he lied all the time, even under oath

No silly! I don't think he was a real man. I think he was a spineless, corrupt, woman abusing, and lying weasel. Other than that I guess he was a personable enough guy. Eye-wink

And by the way, we do live in a free country you can worship the way you choose,

And by the way, back atcha! I think I already knew that.

it may not be my choice, but I am glad I am here,

Huh? Are you kin to Dollar? Puzzled

I can worship the true God, that PRESIDENT BUSH believes in

SweetPea, I can assure you the True God ain't gonna be real happy with someone lumping him in with a bunch of Hindus and Muslims. You see the 'True God' is a jealous god and he don't take kindly to someone comparing him to no Allah rock / moon god.

you read the wrong book or you would have gotten it.

Sorry BPR. I don't need to read any books about what he believes. I know and understand he's a good and decent man. But, the fact is that the words I quoted in the earlier blog were words that were read off his very own lips and not some book. That is an undeniable fact.

Now listen up girl. You may 'get off' on your cult hero president. But, as a True Conservative I'm highly offended by the compromises this president has made in the name of Conservatism. Understand this..... I don't give a rip about what and who he proclaims to be. I give a rip as to what comes out of his mouth and the compromises he's making that will eventually weaken this country's power and stability. No...he isn't the worst president we've ever had, but, he's certainly working toward it.

Now wake up and stop acting like a child. You're blind following of this president and the Republican party has aided in destroying the Conservative movement's influence in this country.

The information was from the London Telegraph about President Bush. That's like reading one of the tabloid magazines we have.

If you believe I am naive that is okay, but one thing this whole mess of the war started with Carter and Clinton.

If people don't believe that we are one nation under God throw away all your money, because it's on there.

I suggest reading The Faith of President Bush instead of taking the word of some London Telegraph.

Do I still support Bush, yes- at least he did something Clinton would not do with partial birth abortions- which by the way when a baby is being born if you don't want it, it's head is cut off. My list could go on and on. I do believe him, he is a Christian. You have to be one to know what I am saying. Is he perfect, no, not anyone, or there would not be a need for Jesus.

Do you think I like a President that my kid can see how he treats women like nothing. Not hardly. Worst President is still Bill Clinton, please tell me what he did do in office.

I think you are a likeable person, and try to see reason- but when 9-11 happened everyone, everyone was saying go to war. God help us with who ever is the next President. Hillary is out of her mind.

I sure ain't no fan of GWB, but I do understand what he meant here.
He means that the religion itself says there is a supreme being and so does Christianity. If I were smart enough to know if they were the same, or not, I wouldn't be fooling around on here!
It is the humans that are crazy and evil, not the religion!
Ignorance plays a big part also.
For many years the sun was considered a pretty good God. Then Lightning and Thunder, then the Gods of Nature (Neptune, Thor, etc.)
Then the sun stopped going around the earth and the earth started going around the sun and the sun started going around the galaxy and the galaxy started going around the black hole!
Then a lot of humans were considered Gods: Incas, Pharaohs, Popes, Military rulers (Caesar), and many others.
They died however, and that didn't set too well for a God!
When we opened the pyramids, the old boys were rotted and gone--never did take the gold or eat the food.
Today we have televangelists who raise a few of the dead, heal cancer, and bone aches, and drive jets. They are not called Gods, however, due to the frequency of the miracles. They aren't allowed to sacrifice anyone either.
No wonder Bush is confused! Bishop so and so of Atlanta, who is married to the Bynum Priestess, makes a lot of sense to me---he said none of it happened. Professor Roberts of ORU and Ms. Professor Roberts also said none of it happened.
I believe it, but I simply don't know what "it" means! Tougher than "is."

What's really pathetic is that Hitlary has summoned advice from a man who plead guilty to stealing documents from the National Archives.

What's even more pathetic are Democrat* bloggers that attempt to hijack a story about the socialistic tendencies of their star candidate and turn it into a discussion about Republicans. Hillary is trying to buy votes with other peoples money, and it should be against the law. At least Bush is fighting for a nobel cause by trying to ensure our country remains safe. The term "democrat" first indicated an opponent of the aristocrats of the French Revolution of 1790.

Denise Conner's picture
Submitted by Denise Conner on Thu, 10/11/2007 - 9:20pm.

The word democracy derives from the ancient Greek demokratia, formed from the roots demos (the mob, the many) and kratos (rule or power).

Federalist No. 10 warns of the dangers of a democracy: "Democracies have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have, in general, been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths."

The Founding Fathers established a constitutional republic rather than a democracy to protect the individual from the majority ("the mob").

The French "democrats" were the ones who murdered between 18,500 to 40,000 people in the period of 10 months during the Reign of Terror. Blood flowed in the streets from Madame Guillotine and mob beatings.

"Most of the people rounded up were not aristocrats, but ordinary people. A man (and his family) might go to the guillotine for saying something critical of the revolutionary government."

Robespierre: "Terror is nothing other than justice, prompt, severe, inflexible."

The old maxim "the end justifies the means" describes Robespierre's policy well. Yes, I do see similarities.

It doesn't matter that 'The Burglar' is now a campaign adviser. It doesn't matter that she got caught with her pockets full of Chi-Com monies. That was approved acceptable and pardonable during her hubbies presidency. Who cares anymore that she talks out of both sides of her mouth on nearly every issue including the war? If the Democrats were in power we would be in the same situation in Iraq right now. The only difference right now is that it isn't their leadership in charge. Those clowns know we've got to fight these shaggy bearded infidel killers.

And think about it? Hack's right. What do the Republicans have to offer us? A bunch of washed out political hacks that regularly trip over themselves trying to 'be like' and please the Democrats.

What's the difference anymore? Heck, at least if Hillary wins we'll not have to listen to the Left criticize the Right anymore. The news reports will talk about the perfect utopia we live in regardless if nothing really changes. Global warming will lessen, the energy crisis will be forgotten, health care issues will be solved, race will no longer be a factor. Think about it... CNN, NBC, CBS, NPR, MoveOn.Org, and Al Gore will have nothing to whine about. Think about it some more. 8 years without listening to those fools.

And just think, today Hillary proclaimed she can build a Bi-Parisian Coalition in Washington. Why not? The Republicans mirror the Democrats so much that it wouldn't take much to bring them together. I can see them merging together peacefully within Bernie Sander's party.

And now for the icing on the cake. 401k Plans for Everybody!!! And Hillary's going to put a $1000 into every account each and every year. What next? 'Money for nothing and chicks for free'? I'm sold. Mike Huckabee?

"Analysis: Giuliani Lead No Guarantee"

"Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor, has been considered the most likely underdog to break into the top tier given his strong communication skills. At 7 percent support in the poll, he has been hampered by abysmal fundraising."

Newt Gingrich: "I think Huckabee is very effective, and if Huckabee can find money, he will be dramatically competitive almost overnight. He's probably the best performer in terms of giving speeches and being appealing."

"Over the past few months I've been very impressed with the Governor's openness to new ideas and solutions for improving our country. He showed genuine leadership a few weeks ago by being the first candidate to sign the Nine Nineties in Nine debate pledge," Gingrich wrote, referring to a pledge to, if nominated, debate the Democratic nominee for 90 minutes in nine straight weeks leading up to the general election. It supposedly would be a 'no rules' Lincoln-Douglas-type debate. 'By committing to a much more in-depth, solution-oriented political dialogue in our country, Governor Huckabee showed that he's truly interested in real change.'"

Interestingly, former Democratic President Bill Clinton also has noticed Huckabee.

"Our only darkhorse that's got any kind of chance is my former governor, Mr. Huckabee. He's the best speaker they've got," Clinton said Sept. 30 on 'This Week with George Stephanopoulos.'"

“HUCKABEE WINS VALUES VOTER STRAW POLL!”

I've talked to 2 people who attended the debate and also talked with Gov. Huckabee (who flies commercial) while they were waiting for a flight back to Atlanta. They were very impressed with Huckabee and seem to be well informed in a lot of areas.

Watch the Values Voter Presidential Debate (178 min.).

"The Next President of the United States"

"If we combine the votes of these good men [Hunter, Tancredo, Brownback, Keyes], we move from the back of the bus into the driver's seat and select the nominee. It's not only our best way to win the White House, from where I sit, it's the only way. United we drive, divided we crash."

"It's Huckabee or Hillary"

"We will either win everything we have worked for in the last three and a half decades or we will lose it all."

I'm sick of Sean Hannity's "only Giuliani can defeat Hillary" attitude and the Republican Party's morphing into the Democrat Party. The GOP front-runners are all politicians, not statesmen, who will say anything to get elected. I don't trust them because I don't see their adhering to conservative principles.

"I think Huckabee is very effective," at 7%!
Just old Newt's way of pandering.
Similar to saying that Dennis Kucinich "is the best candidate for being clear, by far."
Giuliani would be an ideal candidate for the democrats to run against. The dems might even get the evangelistic book writer's votes!
Huckabee would also produce a 65-35% Dem vote for Hillary!
What the republicans need is more good liars like Reagan, Bush, Cheney, and many others who aren't running or in power, to say what conservatives want to hear, but it never happens!
Like, "we can whop up on anybody, yes sir," "Dems spend too much money, and have no family values like Giuliani, Newt, Craig, etc."
"Everybody ought to wear the flag, all of the time!"

He is a good speaker and pretty insightful, but he's just not got much widespread appeal or attention. Despite what the foaming-at-the-mouth fundamentalists won't acknowledge is that Giuliani DOES have broad appeal, which is why he's been the front-runner so long.

The evangelicals' threat to run an independent candidate is a total joke. All that does is ensure election of Clinton and also further marginalizes the evangelical clout. They already are one of the reasons the Repubs are having some difficulties because they've drifted far away from the average American. They can stand on a religious litmus test for candidates all they want if they don't mind Clinton being President.

Rove definitely knows how to deal with this block: tell them what they want to hear and then ignore them afterwards.
