Lovely kittens need a home. Any takers?

Hello everyone. My name is Lucia. I am currently looking for new homes for my four 6 wk. old kittens. They are free to a good home. If interested, please call 770-719-2012.

PLEASE don't ever just give away kittens or any other animal to anyone who inquires. There are cruel people out there who adopt "free to good home" animals under false pretenses and do terrible things to them (bait for fighting dogs, etc.) ALWAYS visit the potential home first, record all contact information for the adopter, and follow up after the animal is adopted. And spay or neuter all animals before giving them away so the new owner doesn't add to the overpopulation problem. It takes effort to do all that, but the animals have no other protectors.

Question 1: Why are kittens given away for free and puppies are sold for 'big bucks'? Puzzled

Queston 2: Are kittens edible? You know... Like veal. Puzzled Puzzled

I too do not care for kitties; but you are just wrong for putting it into words! LOL! Some of these animal lovers really gonna come down on you now, and I ain't gonna catch your back on this one boss, you gonna have to do your own covering.

You don't like kitties? Maybe you should adopt one of these. I expected those comments from Git after hearing his tale about his Okie cat. Sad

anything that scurries around under my feet (and my two bad legs as a result of old football injuries!!!) just make me nervous. Let me rephrase it - it's not that I don't like kitties; just I wouldn't want one at my house.

Please spay or neuter ALL of your cats, your stray cats that you may feed, and your neighbors cats!! CatSnip and West Mobile Vet are very affordable. There is NO excuse for kittens or puppies needing a home - the shelter and humane societies have plenty.

There really is no good reason that our shelter is full. Stop being lazy and cheap. Take care of your pets.

To the low-life people who keep throwing out dogs on Hampton Rd. I hope there is a special place in hell for you. They cannot survive on their own. Throwing them in a field with a bag of dogfood isn't going to get it. They need people to survive.

I'm not lazy OR cheap. but in fayette county you are only allowed to have up to three domestic animals and we have reached that limit. As for spaying/neutering, we were going to take my cat to CatSnip but they were full. After that was when my cat got pregnant. I was trying to be responsible.

I was refering to the people who keep dumping out animals in rural areas. One road in particular is Hampton Rd.

You are trying to find a home for your kittens, thank you for taking care of them.

I wish Fayette would allow the same number of pets as the counties around us. It would make it alot easier for those of us with "sucker" written on our foreheads.

First of all, let me say that cats do indeed serve a purpose. I own, at any given time, between 3 - 10 cats. I keep them at my farm and they love living in the barns. While I'm here my dad throws out cat food about once every day and keeps fresh water available for them. These guys are awesome mice and rat killers and they help keep the birds under control around the barns too. Since, I started my cat farm some time back, I've had less problems with skunks and possums too! I like my cats and they like me too. They follow me every where I go out there and they're pretty entertaining too.

You've just got to be careful to make sure you don't squash one with the tractor. Ick! Shocked Yup, I had to put one down back in July when the old hay mower disc whacked off his two front legs. I couldn't see the ole boy hiding in the tall grass. Poor ole Tom had to be put down with my ole 12 gauge goose gun. Oh well, there's always another one to replace the one that just died.

One good thing about cats is that they do reproduce fairly rapidly. When you lose a couple, there's always a fresh batch on the way. This rapid reproduction process is necessary for the survival of my feline companions on the farm. You see, the hawks and the coyotes help to maintain my cat numbers so that the kitty population doesn't get out of control. It seems I've got the perfect eco-system in place out West. And my girls always have a fresh supply of cute little kittys to play with. Smiling

The problem with our area is that our cat friends don't have any natural predators around to help us with our cat over population issues. Perhaps we need a few more natural predators around. It would definitely help control the unwanted kitty population and it would also free up the county from having to trap the cute little critters and put them to sleep.

P.S. Let me make it clear that I am not referring to the type of predators that our PTC law enforcement friends specialize in eradicating. Eye-wink

Oh! And if you still have those kittens available around mid December I can probably take them off your hands. Some fresh blood interjected into my kitty farm gene pool might not be a bad thing. Smiling

Just curious here, is there a cat house on this cat farm?

He said there was one in the barn!
I wondered where the hawks and eagles ate in this area---now I know!
There are 10,000 households in PTC alone with approximately 6000 cats--most of which have not had their shots and wander around at night on other people's property.
Want some of those, git?

I'm glad you know about spaying and neutering and being responsible. You would be AMAZED at the people who think white bread was just discovered when they hear you can alter your pets BEFORE they have babies!! You can have daddy cat altered NOW and mommy cat as soon as she weans the babies.

My intention was to impress upon you the need for the kittens to be altered and the people who take them from you to be educated. Three Counties in Riverdale does pediatric spay/neuters - you could charge the adoptors the fee to get the cost back and be uber-responsible!

Again - screen the new homes very carefully and even do a follow up home visit, if you can. People with snakes and with fighting dogs love free kittens.
