If Iraq so right, join up, go over there and fight

After reading Hoffman’s letter about conservatives giving our leaders the benefit of a doubt, I have concluded that Hoffman is more confused than the lad who dropped his chewing gum on the chicken house floor.

When Hoffman isn’t “bashing” liberal thinkers and Tim Parker, he is quoting scripture.

I am sick of this “moral meddling.” If he is so convinced Bush was right, then I invite him to enlist in the military to fight in Iraq.

I spent 20 years in the USAF, I am liberal and I don’t need some chicken hawk bozo telling me I’m wrong just because he doesn’t agree with me. I recommend Hoffman visit other countries and learn about life and other cultures outside of Peachtree City.

Mr. Robinson,

Let me understand your point of view:
1) I am not allowed to support the President or the war in Iraq unless I also sign up?
2) If I don't sign up or haven't served in the military, my opinion on the matter is irrelevant?
3) My views on the matter are invalidated by my supposed seclusion in Peachtree City?

I thought I lived in a country where opinions could be freely expressed, both through word and through the vote, regardless of one's military service or residence.

Rather than attack me and require some sort of silly test of my sincerity, why don't you try to give me at least one cogent, intelligent argument about why the Iraq war is wrong and why we shouldn't support our president or the troops in this endeavor. At least then I could respond in a substantial manner.

Right now, all I have to respond to is a litany of insults, which is often the refuge of one whose arguments lack real merit.

(By the way, I have lived abroad for 2 years, studied foreign cultures for a living, and feel that quoting scripture isn't such a bad thing, after all.)

God Bless and Merry Christmas, Mr. Robinson.
