Happy Endings

The newspaper is a wonderful resource for daily information regarding our society. However, I feel that every so often it would be nice to read something positive and inspirational. So, I decided to make that happen to help readers for a moment feel that there's hope and goodness out there.

My friend was informing me about a man she's knows through work. He's 24 years old and is a diabetic. In the past year he's lost a leg, an eye, had a small heart attack, a stroke, dialysis treatment due to his kidneys failing, and was just informed he has cancer. Through all this he has remained positive and is trying to complete college. He doesn't complain, doesn't feel sorry for himself, and wears a smile everyday despite his losses.
This man helps me to realize that life has many obstacles and sometimes we become tired of trying to jump them. However, the key is to never give up and allow life to get the best of you. He inspires me to want to try harder, to wear a smile, that life could be much worse, and that there's hope at the end of the tunnel if we don't give up. I admire him for his strength, courage, and willingness to continue to move forward. My favorite quote is, "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade".
If you have any stories I'd love to hear about them. Please email me.

Thanks for posting such a refreshing and real story, we at times oversee the small and meaningful things that happen around us when caught in the heat of the moment with other issues. This individual is a warrior!

A friend sent me this link yesterday about a college e professor that found out he had a few months to live after falling ill to cancer, it is awesome! Click on "Inspiring" and enjoy.
