A Peachtree City man wanted on charges of disorderly conduct stemming from his verbal confrontation with his son’s youth football coach has been arrested, police said.

Gerren Gamble Smith, 39, of Peachtree Station Circle was arrested Sunday and also charged for an attack on his wife the day before in which he choked her and struck her, police said. Officers saw choke markings on the victim’s neck, and the incident occurred in the presence of the couple’s two children, police said.

Smith was charged with aggravated assault and two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree.

The altercation occurred Saturday but the victim did not report it until Sunday because she had locked herself in a bathroom, police said.

Smith also faces the disorderly conduct charges from the incident at Drake Field and also several traffic charges after he fled a police officer who was issuing a criminal trespassing warning that would have barred him from the field, police said. Smith is charged with driving with a suspended license, striking a fixed object and obstruction of a police officer.

This guy came from New Orleans. I say police send him back to the lower ninth ward and his wife gets a restraining order not to allow him to come close to the children, until he proves he has learned to live among the civilized.

Hopefully the parole board will be deciding how civilized he has become in about 20 years.

what took so long? I'm curious to whether this man is self employed or what. Why did no one turn him until he attacked his wife?
