3 Riverdale kids in school at home sellers expense

I just talked to a real estate friend who told me about the closing in her office 'that wasn't' last week. It seems a contract put on a house in Fayette county by someone living in an apartment in Riverdale with 3 kids. Based on the contract, the owners, moved out west, had a contract on another house, living in an apartment themselves, dogs in kennell for 3 months, waiting for the closing. Everyone showed up but the buyers. It seemed they needed a BINDING agreement on a house to enroll their kids here! 3 of them! I said to my friend that was ridiulous as I'm sure the sellers would call the school board. She stated that there was some sort of loophole, once you get them in, they let them finish the school year. anyone know anything about that?

Believe me, the schools would like to get rid of these leeches just as much as anyone else - and anybody can call and report the family, not just the sellers. You call the school(s) and the county office. This is what resource officers are for. We can't let this keep happening. Those of us with students in the school system live here and pay taxes and we have a right to speak up.
