A 2007 Regional Survey of the 10 County Metro Atlanta area showed that the maximum yearly salaries for City and County Managers were $115,000 for large Cities & Counties, $85,000 for medium sized, and $75,000 for small Towns. Only Fulton & Dekalb County paid the maximum for large Counties/Cities. Tyrone is classified as a small Town. City Manager Barry Amos makes almost $100,000. This salary qualifies for a large City. Should Mr. Amos' salary be reduced to the maximum of $75,000 for small Towns? Particularly, since he no longer has the Engineer duties. If not, why should Taxpayers pay for a large City manager?

1. Several years ago Tyrone's Council voted to fund & codify their Zoning Ordinances. The funds have never been budgeted. Codifying means to organize all laws in one book. Many laws are still applicable but citizen & council members have no way of knowing what laws apply. If elected, will you put codification on the Agenda & move to provide funds?

2. Zoning Ordinance #348 (1997) is an example of the need for codification. This law requires everyone including Tyrone's government to post signs on affected properties when a zoning proposal will be publicly heard. When the government makes a proposal to change zoning, they dont post signs on affected properties. If elected will you;

a) See that this law is followed?
b) Re-enact it if necessary?

Does any candidate running for office know the purpose of ordinance #454 which deleted land/property uses??

I, & several other people I know, want to know from all Tyrone candidates -

Do you think the taxpayers should have to pay for lawsuit judgments against the town?

Or do you think the town should begin to conduct itself in a manner that does not lead to lawsuits being filed against the town?
