PTC Goodwill store: Are we building a fortress here?

By: Letters to the ...

I received an email today from a representative of PTCCA suggesting I call and protest Kroger’s move to sublease their store at Ga. Highway 54 and Peachtree Parkway to Goodwill Industries.

Likewise, you should call if you are comfortable with Goodwill Industries in that location.

I just called and made someone’s day at Kroger.

Personally, I cannot believe that there are NOT people in our community who could benefit from a Goodwill store close by.

And what about thinking “green”? To me, Goodwill is all about reuse, repurpose, recycle. Who do we think we are? Shall we build a fortress around Peachtree City? Please, let me out first.

that you do not own or operate a store in that shopping center. I would also bet you don't frequent any of the businesses currently in that center. I would be willing to go as far to say you have not seen any of the centers that Goodwill operates in in nearby Coweta or Henry Counties.

If you answer yes to those and still think Goodwill was right for that center, then we just have a failure to communicate.

Why bring a Goodwill store there when we have plenty of empty big boxes sitting around in the county? Just at look at the Pavilion.

Go rent some old Dice Clay videos from Blockbuster and get some new material please! Some of us, using our actual names, have the cajones to state our feelings towards the literal lack of Goodwill here in River City. Others anonymously state their fear of "braid shops" in the free speech section. The bottom line is we are being shown the true colors of PTC, and many of us are a bit shocked at the true nature of benevolence here.
