I see they are building a Kroger Gass station in the Brealin Kroger P-lot ...ok...But does anyone know what is going on at the corner of Peachtree Pkwy. and Crosstown? I bet whatever it is we don't need it.

One is a Business Office Venture, that is the one on the same side of Crosstown as K-Mart. The other is a Senior type Village with apartments and some care on site from my understanding.

If the property is zoned, which these two parcels were, and the owners want to develop it to PTC standards, I don't see the issue.

Most of these posters don't understand zoning and "highest and best use," and lawsuits.

You would think it would be a Republican mantra. Land ownersip is sacred & the owner can do what he wants .. but wait .. NOT in my Republican NIMBY. No way! Why does Bush 1 live in the most Republican cities, Houston, that actually has NO Zoning?
Ya'll are really funny. It hasn't been a year since Maxwell & Smith were elected in a Republican primary and they are being trashed elsewhere on this blog. Aside.. county elections should be non-partisan.

The conflict comes in when what is the "highest and best use" according to the landowner, conflicts with the community standard.
You and I both know that without zoning and planning, there would be chaos. Houston is a perfect example of what can happen in the absence of good planning....chaos. You are right about the NIMBY mindset. We all feel that way, and it is neither a Republican nor democrat issue. I am willing to bet that if the highest and best use of the property next door to you were a strip club, you would have a problem as well.

The two are not the same. Zoning and Highest & Best Use.

No, it's not funny. The same rules applied when Clinton was President.
