The Fayette County Tigers (2-0) started their game against the Jonesboro Cardinals with an 80 yard drive caped off with a one yard touchdown run by Matt Daniels. Daniels would score two more touchdowns, raising his season total to five so far.

Daniels rushed for 159 yards, while Tim Pettaway added 83 yards.

Marquis Dixon recovered a fumble late in the second quarter for the Tigers and Shemar Fletcher had an interception early in the third quarter as the defense held Jonesboro to only three first downs on the evening. The Tigers only allowed 90 yards of total offense on the night and were led by Evan Reid, Devontae Partridge and Travis Mihalik with six total tackles each.

Fayette County hosts Whitewater (1-1) next Friday.

Okay - Sandy Creek is 0-2, Fayette County is 2-0 and McIntosh beat Sandy Creek?

PTC is being bullied by a developer that I fought with for years, and the most popular new subdivision is a 'gay friendly' development in Fulton County?

The FCBOE is sending home rebuttals via their children to the newspaper's rightful opposition to an attempted violation of the sunshine laws and dollaraday and found is ....gone...?

Okay, next I will learn that Tug is a dancer at a local 'shoe show' and whitewater high school will be on GMA talking about a drug problem.

Geez. That much excitement didn't happen the whole 30 years I lived in Fayette!

Hope all is well with all of you. Ohio is great. All is well.

We miss ya. Who am I going to argue with about politics? Guliani running on terrorism, Thompson jumped in (ho-hum), Larry “wide-stance” Craig dropped out then dropped back in, Petraeus’s aide says that given 100,000 troops for ten years we “might” stabilize Iraq and except for MoveOn’s idiocy nothing controversial happening with the Dems.

Check in more often and keep us up to date on your work fixing the voting machines for Diebold up there in Ohio.

It's good to "see" you around again. You may know more of what's going on here than most people who still live here. Smiling

Hey, if you are near Cincinnati and want a thought provoking afternoon, check out this link it's right off I-275. We went a month of so ago and found some of the best fossil displays I've ever seen.

Glad to hear all is well.

What a great weekend, my Wildcats 9th, JV and varsity won (housecats?), the GT Yellow Jackets won big again and Georgia lost, "air Stafford" grounded! (Bulldog merchandise 60% off already).
I would like to add that it is great to see the FCHS Tigers on the winning track again, and McIntosh as well. I would go watch Tiger football before by kids were old enough to play football, always enjoyed it. As a WHS parent, continued success to FCHS!

As a passionate proud alum of THE Fayette County High School I'm so glad to see the fortunes of the football team turning a corner AT THIS TIME ... with all the bashing and negative rumors FCHS has gotten in recent years (mostly from those in the FAR end of the county who think they INVENTED a winning football tradition), it's good to think that maybe this year they'll finally turn a corner and restore pride in longtime fans, the Fayetteville community and especially the student body. FCHS is the mother high school in this county. For 25 years, it sacrified as each new high school opened. The most damaging split was Whitewater, which took away some of the best and brightest kids and loyal families - mostly for political reasons! I still hope the BOE will do the right thing and "fix" that huge mistake ... In the meantime, it benefits the entire community if the rich history and tradition at FCHS endures ... I believe FCHS is worth fighting for, even if large numbers of people have already given up on it.

HOW MUCH DO I BELIEVE? Well, If McIntosh beat Sandy Creek, could this be the year the Tigers smash the SMHS Panthers?

I BELIEVE! GO TIGERS!

So if I understand what you're (you + are) trying to say: you think your kittens will beat the Tigers this week. Good for you, the Visitor's side will need some people sitting on that side of the stadium. As for who will win the game, that will be settled on the field Friday night.

Thanks for the props for the Tigers to beat the Panthers!

GO TIGERS!!!!

Well said.

I agree, FCHS is worth fighting for. I also remember when it was the only high school in Fayette.

Hi Newsboy,

FCHS is my alma mater. Did you know that FCHS had no football team for 10 years?

How sweet it is! You can feel the momentum building with each yard gained, touchdown scored, and final score in the Tiger's WIN column.
