Former players doing well on the college gridiron

Sandy Creek graduate Stephan Atrice got some playing time for Air Force in their 34-3 win over South Carolina State.

Starr’s Mill graduate Deante Battle had two tackles for Northwestern in their 27-0 win over Northeastern.

Sandy Creek graduate Brian Brown had an assist in Delaware’s 49-31 win over William and Mary.
McIntosh graduate Brice Carlson saw playing time on Saturday with Guilford College. Guilford beat Southern Virginia University 70-26. He played four series.

Sandy Creek graduate Reggie Ellington had one tackle for Charleston Southern University in their 35-14 loss to The Citadel.

Sandy Creek graduate Andrew Gardner got the start at left tackle for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in their 33-3 win over Notre Dame.

Sandy Creek graduate Michael Gates played in Mississippi State’s 45-0 loss to LSU.

Sandy Creek graduate Gerren Griffin got some playing time for James Madison in their 37-14 los to North Carolina.

Sandy Creek graduate Josh Haney got some playing time for The Citadel in its 35-14 win over Charleston Southern University.

Fayette County graduate Matt Hoisington started at right guard for Charleston Southern University in their 35-14 loss to The Citadel.

Starr’s Mill graduate Chris James kicked a field goal in Western Kentucky’s 49-3 loss to Florida. He also had one kickoff for 70 yards.

Fayette County graduate Grant Jones played for the University of West Georgia in the team’s 23-11 win over Clark Atlanta.

Sandy Creek graduate Will Judson got some playing time for Illinois in their 40-34 loss to Missouri.

Sandy Creek graduate Michael Lockett got some playing time for Wake Forest in their 38-28 loss to Boston College.

Sandy Creek graduate Corbin Miles got some playing time for Tennessee Tech in their 45-24 loss to Eastern Illinois.

Fayette County graduate Channing Welch played in Furman University’s win over Presbyterian College. He had three total tackles, two tackles for a loss, one forced fumble and half a sack for a loss of three yards.

To many people, Sandy Creek is the worst high school in Fayette County with their low test scores and racial diversity.

However, this school apparently does something right with 10 of the players on this page proclaiming SCHS as their alma mater.
