New Orleans vs. Baghdad

My brother in law was just shipped back to Iraq this past week for his second tour.
I was worried about his safety and the fact that he has left five children and a wife back at home. (three disabled)

Then I saw a report on Katrina and the after effects of New Orleans.

And it dawned on me, would I rather live in Baghdad right now or in New Orleans?

Which would be a safer community to live in?

Would you rather live in a city where its citizens are scared to come outside at night, and only go out in the day when they are in a group. Where the city is controlled by religious, ideological, racists who think of murder and mayhem as a natural reaction to the actions of the U.S. Government. Who consider themselves victims of oppression that has befallen them for centuries. Who will murder and rape and pillage their very own countryman for nothing more than the ego of being in control. They are killing so many more of their own people than the American service men and women that are patrolling their streets.
Where even the civilian police force is often as corrupt as those criminals that patrol the streets at night.
These men then take the monies we send there for re-construction and use it to their own means. Instead of rebuilding with the money, much is wasted away on bureaucrats in power. They openly complain about their conditions while begging for more money and yet demand that we leave even though we are the main stabilizing force there.

or would you rather live in Baghdad?
