PTC really needs a theater

I am writing to you because I believe Peachtree City should have a movie theater. A movie theater would benefit the community in many ways.

Instead of driving to Fayetteville or Newnan residents would save money by saving the cost of gas. The fact that residents could drive there in golf carts would save residents even more money, while helping the environment.

Another reason it would be beneficial is it would bring in more money for local businesses which would help Peachtree City have a a greater economy.

In addition to money from ticket sales, local businesses such as restaurants would increase revenues from people stopping in before or after seeing a movie. This would provide further opportunity for new businesses to rise with the success of the new movie theater.

Also, a movie theater would provide a place for teenagers to enjoy teen interaction in a safe environment. It would give teenagers a place to work and to earn money to teach them the value of a dollar.

The recent highway improvements would help prevent traffic jams. Therefore, I ask city leaders to work to bring a movie theater into Peachtree City.

Movie theater on the way (to Coweta)

Next year there will be a 12 cinema theater right across the county line in Coweta County at the 34/54 crossroads. I agree it would have been nice to have a clean, new theater in PTC but with this one already in the works I'm not sure it would be economical now.

First of all you are by far the most polite intelligent teen I have heard from in PTC. You are a welcome addition to PTC. Take that for the serious compliment it is. Your letter touched even cynical curmudgeon skyspy.

The ugly mudcat is right we did have a movie theater here and it bombed miserably. I think it was due to poor management, and poor choice of movies more than anything.

Tell me seriously would you and your friends use the movies and maybe a coffee/game/cyber cafe place attached to it? Would the good kids like you in PTC use this hangout spot? I know we do have good kids here but how many of you are there? You sir are very rare.

You have very good ideas. Write or e-mail our city councilmen. They need to hear from someone with bright ideas about how to keep our city nice.

Keep up the good work and the good ideas.

Is the youth city council that Steve Brown started still in use?

We had theaters here - both live and movie. No one goes. They lose money and go away. The new rich have theater rooms and rent movies instead of going out. Stay home with your parents and watch Disney movies - I would if I could.
