Fayetteville : The NEW Riverdale

After going away to college and graduating this past May, coming back to Fayetteville it was obvious that the city officals are slaping themselves in the face for letting the certain developments come into Fayetteville. It is entirely new city now from crime in the Fayette Pavillion to Bank Roberies. You wonder why all of the long time residents are moving out. Get out while you can. I am.

Go ahead and move to Atlanta, but don't sell your house here because if the crime here is too much for you, the crime there will send you hustling back very soon. I was at a house in west end just the other day and the lady said her a/c only blew hot air. I went outside to chack and someone had sto;en the copper lines between the furnace and the a/c. last year, same house, they stole the a/c's and the copper so if you think the ATL has it over fayetteville, you're sadly mistaken.

I yam what I yam...Popeye

Run for office! The Fayetteville Mayor and two council seats are up for grabs. Qualifying is Aug. 27-29.

The same people that approved everything in Fayetteville will go right back in office, if someone doesn't step up and run against them.

Have you heard any of them comment on the crime there? I haven't.

The criminals don't live in Fayetteville, they travel to Fayetteville because we are an easy target and a bedroom community and that is what criminals want, everyone with their guard down.

If you haven't noticed when the criminals are caught and names and address are released....it isn't a Fayetteville resident, they are coming from other counties. Wake up people....

Oh and I guess Atlanta has no crime !!!!. I work in Atlanta and see it everyday..... So where will you move now?

Apparently everyone loves crime, except for me. Citizens are very complacent here. The good people will move before they fight crime. It's a shame but.....

In Atlanta they spell Robberies with two b's.

You are trading Fayette County for Atlanta? They did not teach you much at your college did they?

I have been trying to be patient, but that is almost gone now. I filed for a divorce on July 5, waited the 30 days and then it was sent to Fayette County to be finalized. It was received August 7 and do you know to this day no one can tell me what the status of it is! My attorney can't find out anything, the court can't seem to tell me anything either. What is going on here? I was told the judge that is suppose to be signing this decree probably hasn't gotten around to it yet. Why not? Why would a judge who is listening and deciding others fates involving murder, rape, etc. be in charge of signing little ole' divorce papers when there is nothing to decide. It isn't contested, there are no children, and there isn't even any property to argue over. It just takes 5 minutes of his time to sign the darn papers. His clerk will seal them and send them. It has been many years since I went through this in this county, but it was all over and done with 40 days from signing in the first place. There is no excuse to put people through this just because it isn't as important to the court as something else they may be doing, but to those of us having to sit and wait and sit and wait, etc. it is extremely important and much too long in being completed. Wake up Fayette County. If you want something you want it now where legals are concerned. Why don't we get the same treatment for things that are quite simple and easily done? We have paid our taxes and done all the things we are forced to do here, why can't this be done in a timely manner? FIX THIS!!!

I totally agree with you. I haven't lived here full time for a few months now and have just bought acreage out of state, in the country, where it is quiet, beautiful, and you are welcome to everyone there. I am in the process of selling my place in Fayette County and can't wait to not contribute any more $$$ to things that are not worthy of it. What a shame that this place has gone the same way as those around it. All the money in the world won't fix what is wrong here and until those in the "seats" making the decisions see this Fayette County is doomed. All those that have been here for a long time can see these things. It is just a shame that the new ones who think this place is sooooo grand will never know just how grand it really was before the almightly dollar took over. Read Dr. Sams' books. They will tell you of places you wish you could visit and/or live and then you find out that you are in this place....it just doesn't exist anymore.

You would probably be surprised if you really compared what is going on to where you are going, compared to where you live now.

Oh yeah, if you find Utopia, don't tell anyone. Smiling

There is no utopia, but some places are better than others.

We have to pick the lesser of the evils and move on.

Compared to river-crimedale this place still is utopia....for now....

Trying to find a zip code in Georgia with better crime rates than the zips in Fayette County.

Oh yeah, my utopia is in Breckenridge Colorado.
