Hmmm... let's see. I don't watch TV. I get my news off the internet. Gasp... I even have internet relationships. Puzzled

Help me Dr. Denise. Wait....she's as bad as I am. Smiling

Symptoms of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), which can be manifested as Internet Addictive Disorder (IAD)

I see no signs of anxiety and severe depression (unless that's why you attacked the alligator on your vacation), but please tell me if I'm wrong.

Do you have uncontrollable urges to engage in ritualistic thoughts and behavior?

• Repeated hand-washing (obsessed with germs or dirt) -- Not evidenced in your blog on the subject, just good hygiene.

• Counting objects, such as steps or road signs, and/or being obsessed with good luck numbers

• Checking and rechecking and rechecking, a locked door for instance -- Are you filled with doubt, and do you feel the need to check things repeatedly? (Could just be a sign of aging, though Sad )

• Cleaning excessively, such as vacuuming the ceiling -- Ask your wife for help answering with this one. (Maybe when you were vacuuming in your silk underwear during a lightning storm? Puzzled )

• Touching things, especially in a particular sequence (besides the keyboard)

• Preoccupation with order and symmetry -- Do all of your sentences have to have the same number of words and be in the same grammatical order?

• Difficulty throwing things out (so that they accumulate) and/or hoarding unneeded items -- Do you have every back issue of the Atlanta Journal?

• Having frequent thoughts of violence and harming loved ones and/or those whom you dislike -- Even $ doesn't lead you down this path. Evil

• Being afraid of social embarrassment may prompt people with OCD to comb their hair compulsively in front of a mirror - sometimes they get "caught" in the mirror and can't move away from it. -- Don't think this is a problem for you. Eye-wink

• Are you a self-conscious teenager or a person in your mid-50s suffering from the loneliness of an empty nest? -- Not a problem yet for you

• Does your internet browsing keep you from working or carrying out normal responsibilities at home? -- You may not want to ask your wife about this one. Eye-wink

• Do you use alcohol or drugs to calm yourself? -- $, what about it? Puzzled

IAD is "worse" than other extreme addictive disorders such as gambling, sex addiction, and kleptomania. -- Now you know why psychiatrists are often as loony as their "patients." Laughing out loud

This is a self-assessment. Let me know if you need further evaluation, and I'll try to fit you in between blogs. Ummm, I might not have time. Laughing out loud

Kind of gives credence to that saying "takes one to know one".

Maybe, except for not doing the dishes for your wife!

Unless you're $ or a teen, you don't have to worry. Laughing out loud

Now send me a post if you feel an overwhelming urge to become one of those detectives that $ was telling us about so that you can find out his name. You might have an overwhelming need to shake some sense into a few people and require someone to help you calm down. Better yet -- go alligator wrestling again -- great stress reliever! Laughing out loud

You two need to "departmentalize."
Two hours total for this, two hours for that, etc.
Not "compartmentalize" categories as Clinton did, but departmentalize--your time and thoughts!
Phone nuts are addicts, not internet.

You need help buddy. One of the first sypmthoms of this addiction is denial. Sadly, you are in denial. I'm sure, if you're nice and you have the money to pay for a consultation, Denise will be glad to examine you. Smiling

While you're at it, perhaps she can help you with some of your other issues and addictions. Get some help Dollar. We care about you.

I've just been hanging out in the peanut gallery for a couple of days. And, as we have talked before, once I lose a thread that interested me. . .well, you know.

You know, my concerns and comments are not as lofty as some . . .while I have some burning questions . . .I just do not look forward to certain feedback I might get, "wink wink".

I'm out of the office at 4:30 (in at 6:30)so I'll have to catch y'all tomorrow.
