The schools in Fayette County represent the new south. The diversity in staff and students is 'real'. Parent support - by being involved in the school; helping and supporting teachers by checking homework, etc.; these are some of the important elements found in a successful school. The other important elements for a successful school are knowledgeable administration; outstanding teachers; and a supportive community that partners with the school.

this indeed represent a new south and a much better one i must say. my son is a student here and plays ball, studies, and works on some weekends as well.

we must aplaud mr oliver and ms. ellis, starrs mill, fayette middle and bennett's mill, north fayette, east fayette, hood avenue, flat rock and others as they lead this area in diversity and high academic endevors.
