Undercover drug agents from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department recently arrested a Peachtree City man who was dealing marijuana out of his apartment at Balmoral Village, police said.

Agents recovered $11,760 in cash and five pounds of marijuana from the apartment, and the marijuana was found hidden in a baby’s room, said sheriff’s Capt. Mike Pruitt. Also found in the home was a .40-caliber handgun, Pruitt noted.

The task force established surveillance on the residence after a tip from a Peachtree City police officer that drugs were allegedly being sold from the unit, Pruitt said.

Pruitt said the marijuana was advertised as being of high quality and was being sold at $1,000 for four ounces.

James Daniel Brock II, 20, of apartment 203 in Balmoral Village was arrested July 31 and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and for possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, police said.

Police also seized a car that is believed to have been used in the drug operation, Pruitt indicated.

I believe I remember this boy from FMS and, if I remember correctly, he was not a boy that wanted for anything. What in the world is going on? Every night I get online to read the news and every night it's bad stuff and it's happening in our county. That poor, poor little girl...and you know there was probably a lot more going on then what was in the pictures.

Have crimes such as what we've experienced the past month always gone on? Were we denied access to the truth? It was a big secret, or something? Or do you think the heat has something to do with the increase in crime. Didn't son of sam start killing during a heatwave? Were there ever any studies conducted regarding heat and crime?

First of all not that long ago....even just 4 years ago. The scumball criminals knew if they got caught doing anything, and I mean anything, they would get the maximum penalty. Even if it was only a first offense.

The sheriff's dept is still doing a great job. Our cops are the best. The DA, the judges, and the citizens here are soft. I think many citizens are completely oblivious to what is going on. Many do not support our cops and help them. When you see a crime you need to report it. Too many people are afraid to get invoved.

Our DA and judges are letting people off as lite as possible which stinks. The excuse DuJour in Fayette now is "I was binge drinking" or "I had a bad childhood" As soon as this group stops sucking their thumbs and wetting their beds, we might be able to get our crime free life back. Until this group stops having group hugs with the thugs, things will continue to get worse.

Success is a choice not a birthright! No one owes you anything!

Cops are always correct. Judges are always wrong!
If I were you I would sort them out and destroy the bad ones and honor the good ones!

I remember a teen "taking" a car for a joy ride (he didn't think that he stole it), and the judge not letting him off easy. The kid gave his parents lots of trouble. What I remember most was his mom's worry about his being caught in Fayette County and his facing a tough judge who'd not be easy on her "baby." Something has definitely happened here, and it hasn't been for the better either.

Have you ever visited Georgia's prisons and jails?

They are full of young guys serving 10-20 years for theft and destruction of property! Mostly black!

We are afraid of the black----not so much the white teenagers who get probation, a fine, and maybe some work. Good lawyers do that for one, don't they?

$, have you ever been a "guest" in a Georgia prison? Eye-wink

I have seen the excellent accommodations available in Maricopa County, AZ, and the fine job that Sheriff Joe Arpaio does. His programs should be utilized across the country.

But, yes, I did tour a jail once as part of a school outing -- a little reminder not to become a criminal if we didn't want to end up in such a place.

As far as "mostly black," well, if you do the crime, you do the time -- white or black or brown. Hanging them would be fine with me. Working hard (chain gang) instead of weight-lifting or watching TV would also be a further incentive not to be incarcerated.

As far as being afraid of blacks, I think anybody would be apprehensive of a thug-type, white or black or brown. I seem to recall Bill Cosby's saying that he's afraid of some blacks in some areas. Anyone would be foolish not to be. If you don't want to be suspected of being a thug, don't dress and act like it!

But some criminals don't look the part; so, you should be cautious of all strangers in this day and age.

Denise, get your guns!!!

What do you mean by "true colors"? Laughing out loud

NO! I haven't.

"True colors," you are not ignorant----misguided, but not ignorant!

Are you afraid of women who drown five kids?
How about women who shoot their husband preacher in the back with a shot gun while he sleeps---and in the back?
NO? Ok!

Afraid of murderers? Definitely! Aren't you? Puzzled

Why is it "OK" to shoot your husband in the back? Or to drown your kids?

Thank you for saying that I'm not ignorant! Laughing out loud

How am I "misguided"? Puzzled

You seem to never be afraid of anything except "thugs."
I don't think I have read anything you have ever said about women murderers being wrong! They had a bad day, maybe!

You really must all of my posts and look at all of the links -- a real education! Laughing out loud

"They had a bad day, maybe!" -- WHAT?????????????

You won't hear such talk from me. Andrea Yates should have been electrocuted for killing her kids, and probably the wife (Mary Winkler) who killed her husband (the pastor) -- or at least, she should have received a long prison sentence.

To quote another post of mine, AF A-10 "Hack" -- Racism: "The disgusting sentencing of Mary Winkler (210 days in prison with credit for already serving 5 months and the remainder to be served in a mental health facility = no time in prison after conviction) happened because she's another minority -- a woman, not because of race. Disgusting! Women can drown their kids, and we're supposed to feel sorry for the true victims, the "depressed" mothers. They can murder their husbands, and we're supposed to feel sorry for the true victims, the "abused" wives. They are just so (mentally) weak and helpless. GAG!!!! Thank feminism for these perversions of justice."

"You seem to never be afraid of anything except 'thugs.'" -- Well, I try! Smiling

The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. -- Deuteronomy 31:8

Not in the same sense as described on this site!

Why? We aren't afraid of them!

. .not being 'afraid' of me gives me a 'hands up' position!! (maybe)

Shouldn't all D.A.'s & judges be required to attend? Think of it as reverse sensitivity training. Eye-wink

Good point!! Especially the DA's and judges!
