A total of 10 people have signed up to seek appointment to the unexpired term on the City Council previously held by Judi-ann Rutherford.

The term on the Post 1 seat ends Dec. 31, and the 10 applicants will be interviewed tonight at 6:30 p.m. at a public meeting of the City Council on the bottom floor of the Peachtree City Library.

Council is expected to vote to select one of the candidates at tonight’s meeting.

The candidates are:
Donnie Haddix of 7 Dover Trail, semi-retired;
Mike Harman of 222 Terrane Ridge, a sales manager for Biorem Environmental and a member of the city’s Water and Sewer Authority;
William Holland of 324 Aster Ridge Trail, a retired architect;
Timothy Hoyle of 111 Wickerhill, a college student;
Chris Larson of 13 Perthshire Drive, a TV writer and producer for In Touch Ministries;
Michael Moore of 102 Eden Edge, a revenue management specialist for Coca-Cola Enterprises;
Thomas O’Toole Jr. of 710 Bookman Point, an education data management specialist with DDESS;
Ray Sturbaum of 455 Plantain Terrace, an IT vendor management specialist with Panasonic Automotive Systems;
Richard Thompson of 118 Century Park Place, owner of Better Bodies Fitness, LLC; and
Lynda Wojcik of 412 Taberon Road, a regional account manager for Simon & Schuster.

Rutherford resigned last month, saying she was moving out of the country to be with her husband who was relocated.

I have heard of any of the 10 except Lynda Wojick. She was complaining about the west village and I (along with others) told her to get involved. To her credit she did and I am very proud of her. Not that I actually get a vote, but if I had one it would be for Lynda. You go girl! Make us proud.
