Police find $1,600 cash and ‘large quantity’ of marijuana Peachtree City police arrested a 16-year-old teen Thursday afternoon who is suspected of packaging marijuana for distribution, police said. The arrest came after police were summoned to a home on Moss Hill Court after the suspect attacked his mother when she tried to take a suspicious bag from him, police said. Police searched the home and found “a large quantity” of marijuana along with more than $1,600 in cash, miscellaneous drug paraphernalia and alcoholic beverages, police said. The preliminary investigation showed that the suspect was packaging the marijuana for distribution, police said. The suspect, whose name was withheld by police because of his age, was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, battery (family violence), underage possession of alcohol, possession of hashish oil and possession of drug-related objects, police said. The mother received minor cuts and bruising in the altercation which took place after 3 p.m., police said. The suspect was taken to a Regional Youth Detention Center, the equivalent of a jail for young offenders. Police said the search of the home was assisted by the canine unit of the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.
