Hot time at Three Dollar

G35 Dude's picture

When the Three Dollar Café in Peachtree City started having trivia on Thursday nights a group of my friends and I began going. Last Thursday 8/9/07 may have been our last time though.

We attended trivia on 8/2/07 and the restaurant was warm. I asked a waitress to increase the speed of a fan close to our table to make it more comfortable. It didn’t help much. The next week, 8/9/07, the heat was almost unbearable. I asked the waitress if they could turn down the AC. She smiled and said you’re about the fifth person to ask me that and left. A few minutes later we spotted the manager a few feet from our table. And we asked him the same question. His response was “It’s 110 degrees outside. Just deal with it !”

Hasn’t this place closed once due to poor service already ?

Did we all explain it's HOT outside & EVERYONE's A/c is overworked?

Now maybe you did work the manager's last nerve. But, I understand it was crowded... How about telling us, "Was the food OK?" Did you / have you had a good time on Trivia Nite?

I'm guessing since you bought the G35 & not the 'stang, you don't work @ Taco Mac. Another fine good eatin' & drinkin' emporium.

My second car is a Stang. And I actually considered another Stang when I got the 35. At the time Ford had just started selling the new GT's and wanted a premium over MSRP. (Can we say ripoff) If I had to pay that much for what I wanted I decided to get the 35. Also, no I don't work for Taco Mac. Where did I say anything about Taco Mac anyway? (Did you even read my post before responding ?)I've been with my current employer 30 years and can finally afford something like a G35. (Not that it's any of your business what I drive)

The food at $3 is good. But no I didn't have a good time because of the heat and the managers attitude. (Mostly managers attitude)

I’ve lived here 9 years and it never ceases to amaze me how much people like to complain in Peachtree City. Everyone complains when a restaurant closes. Everyone complains about the council. G35 you complain about it being hot in a restaurant FULL up VERY happy patrons. You complain about it being HOT when it was 103 degrees out. Well, G35 there shows your ignorance. It wasn’t cool ANYWHERE. AC units can’t keep up when it is 103 degrees and 57% humidity. Instead of complaining about being hot on a VERY hot night in a packed restaurant why don’t you applaud them getting rid of the old management and trying again. I go there EVERY Thursday and have had VERY good meals with VERY good Service so if you want a real opinion on the Three Dollar Café I suggest you get your own. G35 does not have a clue.

I was there last week as a guest of a friend. The service was good, the air cond. seemed to be working okay. We just didn't like the food!

Now I'm going to tip toe away quitely, and not make you more upset. Smiling

Smiling You won't upset me by giving your opinion unless you call me ignorant or pretend that I don't deserve to drive the car of my choice for some reason. *LOL*

My comment about the $3 cafe was meant for Zman.
Sometimes you can just say hello on here, and somebody gets mad and pitches a hissy fit! Smiling

You must be the manager of $3 cafe if you think I'm ignorant to be offended by rude treatment. You also missed the point that the week before wasn't much better. If the manager had said that he was having A/C problems I could have dealt with that.

BTW, if you don't like Peachtree City why are you still here ?

I'm thinking about opening a $2.999 cents, EATS place. All of the soaked wingtips, pork rinds, pinto beans, collards, turnips, and corn bread you can eat!!!
Sweet Tea would be extra, $3.50 per pitcher.
There will be bingo in one corner, "rasslin" in one end, and hillbilly bands from Blairsville in the middle!
It would be required that you either purchase a keg of beer, or, plop down $25 cover charge, before ordering your food.
A small two-step prance floor would be available in front of the band.
Karaoke would replace the bands on Thursday nights. Roy Acuff and Hank Williams tunes, only.
Bouncers will be available and limo service at $25 after 12:00 PM.
A special room for town and county officials, and rap stars.

at $2.999 you must be figuring on making gas also.

You wouldn't be in business long selling kegs for $25.00, but I would take a couple off your hands. I like the idea of hillbilly bands and Hank and Roy rock. After reading how you make sweet tea I don't see you selling much of it, in fact the epa might shut you down cause it do sound toxic. Soaked wingtips? wet shoes maybe?

Another great business owner you are!
Kegs are double whatever I paid for them.

Has Fayette been hit by the rolling brown outs or black outs? Henry county and a few other counties have been hit the last few days.

No, we have our own private power. Plus every home has a generator that runs on hydrogen.

Submitted by skyspy on Fri, 08/10/2007 - 6:47pm.

Hydrogen? I have to keep going to the gas station for my generator.

You have to order them special from GM. Right now they are about 320,000 dollars each.

In defense of my man the Cyclist, you have no idea what he cares about, I've seen him spend days helping out the school band when the rest of us parents were taking it easy in the a/c. If you were a chicken, dollar, I would have just two words for you, get plucked.

What has hanging around the band with your kids got to do with the infrastructure and our environment?
I don't think maybe you know what those things are, even!

Is your favorite book and movie Soylent Green? Have you finished it yet?

Dude, I know nothing about the $3 cafe, can't speak for them. However, I do think Hutch mentioned something about being a A/C person, perhaps we could have Hutch visit and help them out with their cooling system.

I know nothing about the 3 dollar either, but on a hot night with a big crowd there's a good chance the a/c is overloaded and just can't keep up, also depending on the windows and the angle of the sun, same result. If Dollar's there all the hot air will most definetly overload the a/c. For everyone out there if you haven't checked your filter in a few weeks now is the time.
